Start, Settings, Control Panel, User Accounts and you can set a password from there to your account.

For user passwords you can log-in then hit CTRL-ALT-DEL and select "change password" to put a password in.

If you prefer to set a password on the whole PC then you should be able to do this in the computer BIOS.

As soon as you switch on the PC look for a message about "Press ?? to enter setup". Normally it is either DEL or F1 or F2.

Once in the BIOS look for a "security" page or similar. Or just go though all the pages until you find it.

This will prevent the PC from even booting up without the correct password.

ok...a little tough love here...if you're asking that question here...you probably don't want to setup a bios password ...because ..there is so much that can happen with a bios password....if you somehow forget or don't type in the characters exactly the same ...you could end up getting locked out of your own pc..and it is a big deal to remove bios passwords...just setup a password the way the others have instructed in the control panel and you should be fine ...make sure you have your files set to private...and lastly ...in safe mode your account can still be accessed..bythe administrator account...so you have to set a password on it as well..(like the same one you just set up for you...as to avoid confusion)

I am assuming that you want to set a profile password.

you can open up your Control Panel then select User Accounts.

Then select Change an account inside there you will want to select your account

Then select change the password.

When you are logged into the computer you can select the Windows key and the "L" key and that will lock your computer so thatno one will be able to use it

you can go to control panel - users and account- password

also disable the guest account option.

Another way is to set up a user and administrator password through the bios. Just go to CMOS setup during bootup and go to password So it will ask for a password during boot up.
