Where can I download an anti-virus software without downloading a virus?

Question

I need Anti virus software, firewalls, a program that can quarantine Trojans, viruses and spy ware, but I need to download it free, I had zone alarm and put a password on it and forgot it and realized I couldn't just get the password back after I paid for it, and now I had to reboot my computer just to get rid of it because I couldn't access anything, so can anyone help? I need all this and for free, thanks!

The best free anti virus/spyware software for a Windows computer is Microsoft Security Essentials. It was built by Microsoft for Microsoft computers. It is updated daily and runs quietly in the background. It doesn't use much bandwidth and has been proven to be very reliable and secure.



This program works for most people. If you like to visit unsecure sites or MSE isn't doing the job, then I suggest Malwarebytes, the paid version. If you decide to go this route, remove any other anti virus programs that you are using. They may conflict with each other.

If you're looking for a legitimate anti virus, then go with AVG. It's free.

I'd also get yourself an anti spyware program too. Super Anti Spyware is a personal favorite of mine. Or you can just adaware or spybot search and destroy. All are good and all are free.



My personal PC uses symantec anti virus, spybot and super anti spyware.
