Yes if you put a disk in that will delete everything literally anything you want to save put it onto a memory stick and then just reinstall the program... If you are using rogers I would download their antivirus thing like i have i dont have any problems with my computer pop-ups tell me if a virus is trying to get onto my computer... but before that, i had a virus and my mom paid this guy she knows $50 and he did everything on the computer now i have windows xp and i love it! i dont like vista as much as xp :)

good luck!

A computer virus is a special kind of computer program which: Spreads across disks and networks by making copies of itself, usually surreptitiously. Can produce undesired side-effects in computers in which it is active. How infection occurs In order to infect a computer, a virus has to have the chance to execute its code. Viruses usually ensure that this happens by behaving like a parasite, i.e. by modifying another item so that the virus code is executed when the legitimate item is run or opened. Good vehicles for viruses include the parts of a disk which contain code executed whenever that disk is booted, and documents which contain macros executed whenever that document is opened with the relevant application. As long as the virus is active on the computer, it can copy itself to other files or disks that are accessed. Virus side-effects As well as self-replicating code, a virus normally contains a 'payload'. The former is like the propulsion unit of a missile; the latter is like the warhead it delivers. The payload can be programmed to have malicious side-effects. These effects can range from harmless messages to data corruption or destruction. How viruses spread Infections spread from machine to machine, and from organisation to organisation, in a number of ways. Viruses can be transmitted by: Booting a PC from an infected medium. Executing an infected program. Opening an infected file. Common routes for virus infiltration include: Floppy disks or other media that users can exchange. Email attachments. Pirated software. Shareware.

Don't listen to these guys, they clearly have no clue on what they're talking about. I am a developer at Microsoft so I know a thing or two about computers. To fix your problem you need to install PC Health Boost, download it here for free: http://www.pcboostcleaner.com

It's very light and it's the only antivirus/cleaner with a 99.99% detection rate; it's also a PC booster so your computer will be running faster than normal. Install it, hit run and problem solved. It shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes.

Ya it should if you wipe your harddrive, and reboot

BUT MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR PRODUCT KEY

if you dont, this program can read your computer and grab it for you

http://downloads.sourceforge.net/keyfinder/keyfinder.2.0.1.zip?use_mirror=osdn

without the product key you cannot reboot also you will jump through the roof once you realise how fast your computer is rebooted. also if you want a good anti-virus try this

http://free.avg.com

get the free version. Also if you think you have a virus DO NOT enter ANY personal information such as bank pin etc. into your computer, the virus may be recording your every move and word.

If by "reboot" you mean "format" or reinstall the os, then it sure will. Doing so erases everything off of the hard drive and starts you fresh and virus-free! Everything should be faster too if you haven't done this in a long time. Rebooting a computer is just turning it off and turning it back on.

LOL :-D

Yes. Reinstall everything will get rid of the virus.

BUT if you reinstall everything everytime you get a virus.

You will spent 99% of your computing time reinstalling your windows OS instead of doing anything more interesting.

There are lots of free anti-virus programs like Avira, Avast and AVG that would remove virus. So please don't be a fool and get an anti-virus program.

If you are having a virus or Malware problem, you should receive professional Malware removal support from a site like http://geekpolice.net/

I recommended it because they provide real fast support compared to other sites and a cure is guaranteed.

Yes, but I wouldn't back anything up because these files will be infected then you will reinfect your computer once you put them back in to your computer. Make sure you wright down the license to all your programs before you reinstall your OS

If you reinstall windows, Yes.

and you can also transfer all work or pictures on an external hard drive to save them. BUT make sure there isn't a virus attached to any of those items first!!!

I suggest running a good anti-virus program to get rid of any computer bugs. Just rebooting will not clear up your virus problem.

well, if you erase everything and there is not damage in your system it will clear any viruses, but If your system is damaged already you have to buy a antivirus program first and then reboot your computer.

Well, that's not a reboot. Rebooting is just restarting.

Yes, but you'll have to reformat the hard drive in order to do so. This will wipe out anything and everything that exists on the drive.

get a free copy of avs or avast run them first, you may save yourself having to format and reinstall everything, choose one of the applications don't try to use both of them

rebooting is just restarting

reinstalling should do the trick, but be sure to totally wipe the hard drive first.

If you reformat your compy yes. Rebooting is just shutting it down and restarting it.

uh no if you want to remove them you'll need an anti-virus program. if you don't want to buy one there are free home versions available on the internet. i generally use avast but you can find others out there as well.

Most Likely, yes. However, if it doesn't, then do a system restore to go back to a date when you weren't infected.
