Question:
Are all these trojans and viruses on my laptop gone?

I had warnings coming up on my screen saying I had 323 Trojans and some kind of worm on my laptop. I ran both an AVG free scan and a windows defender scan and now there appears to be no Trojans or worms.

This was after 2 minutes of struggling to get rid of a pop up screen which was telling me to take action, it kept on telling me to press on the remove tab to get rid of these viruses, and asking me if I want to save binary file, again and again even pressing cancel this same thing kept popping up. In the end clicking on one of my saved websites on my toolbar got me out of this situation.

Anyway I have had no confirmation telling me whether these trojans and worms have been removed or not. My laptop seems to be acting normal, but how do I know for sure whether these viruses are gone or not, no messages came up after the annoying pop up screen went away, so should I assume that my laptop has sorted itself out? Or is there something else I should do? Thankyou.

Restart your computer, press F8 repeatedly, go into "safe mode with networking", download superanti spyware and malwarebytes (links below). Both those delete ANY virus. I scanned with both, some finds others that others don't find. So USE both and update both.

URGENT : Please go into Safe mode, do not ignore that step or else the virus will interfere with your activity. Also viruses don't allow you to open up programs or anti-virus software, and being in Safe mode allows you to do that. In Safe Mode, the virus cannot interfere with you getting rid of it.

After downloading in safe mode, UPDATE them. PLEASE Update. You'll see this option, don't be alarmed.

Quick scan and quarantine/delete/remove. And you are cleaned.

If those do not work, go into safe mode and download Spybot search and destroy. Update!

Stay safe by downloading COMODO Internet Security (free) and keep those anti-virus softwares I told you to download.

You did not give which rogue antivirus popups you are having issues with so here is the main page to bleeping computers: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/ If you have not restarted computer, I strongly suggest not doing so at this time until you are sure that system is clean. It is a good possibility that this infection is already in your system restore files and if you restart, the pop-up's will start again. Here are futher instructions on removal from Microsoft:

Maintaining your computer

1. Left click on C drive> properties/run windows disc cleaner

3. Install Ccleaner and run the cleaner top left, then run the registry cleaner below it on the left. you don’t need to backup the registry

4. Left click on C drive> properties>Tools>disc scanner or in the case of Vista it’s called something else, but it’s the top tab you click on> Prompt the scanner to scan upon next reboot and REBOOT COMPUTER)

I would run SuperAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Antimalware to ensure that you have cleaned everything out, and I would use Microsoft Security Essentials, Avast, or Avira, not AVG. AVG is not nearly as good as the others (and they are free as well).

The pop-up is a SCAM. Trust your AV programme. The PU just wanted you to download their rubbish. Keep your AV up and turn your pop-up blocker on too.

I use 2 programs. Spybot Search and Destroy (I know, it sounds cheesy) Avast Anti-virus professional edition. Both programs get me through flawlessly for a LONG time.

theres nowt wrong if youve run , Anti malware from windows defender etc. Adjust your firewall to not allow pop ups as they are giving you `FAKE' messages , in order to get you to allow them into your pc or get you to buy their software .ITS A SCAM. Dont click it -( trust what the people here are saying!!)
