Hi,
A security package I was running picked up a trojan virus, and in the log said ''no action required''. Anyone know why this is, don't I have to quarantine or delete it or something.
Also, I have run 4 or 5 different anti virus and spyware programs and none have picked it up. So anyone know what I should do?
Thanks for reading!

Hey I have had viruses like this before, and when a scanner detects it and says that its usually because it can't remove it

you do have to remove this virus, to do this.....

firstly start up your comp with 'safe mode with networking' you so this by shutting down your comp and switching it back on and constantly pressing f8 until you come to a screen that has options and you select 'safe mode with networking' By doing this the virus can't interfere with what you are doing. The page will load up (1-2 mins) and then you will log on as usual (the screen might be bigger and look different, this is fine) (if you can't get on safe mode just do it on normal mode)

Now download this

http://filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/

(If link doesn't work type 'malware' in the search box and click on the first one ''malware bytes'')

It’s a reputable website that my internet company uses and this has helped me tons of times before. Download it and run it (it’s free) (you might have to disable your pop up blocker at the top of the screen when downloading)

Perform quick scan (should take 10 to 20 mins)

View results

Remove all

(CLICK NO TO RESTART COMPUTER)

Go on quarantine (4th from the right column)

Then delete all

Then restart your comp

Have done this many times, works every time and can remove anything

Good luck :)

Hi,

please do thisto kill it dead :-

you have a really bad virus and the only thing to kill it is "Malwarebytes", some times this virus blocks anti-virus sites so download it using another system on to a Flash drive then use the flash drive to install it onto the infected system, then reboot and then run a FULL scan of your system, if this fails try this, reboot and press F8 as it boots up, this will take you into safe mode, then run a Full scan again.

If it is still blocked & won’t install try this:-

When it asks you where you would like to save it, change the "mbam_setup.exe" file to xxxxx.exe.

Then install it, update it, and run a full scan in Safe mode.

This will clear your system of this virus.

http://malwarebytes.org/

This is also one of the best free anti-spyware programs; again always run your anti-virus software in “Safe Mode” on full scan.

http://www.superantispyware.com/

This will all help you and are completely FREE downloads.

Trust me this does work.

***********

Simple version of what to do:-

Download “Malwarebytes” onto a UBS Memory stick using a friends system

Use the free filehippo links

Reboot your system

As it boots up press (tap) F8 to access safe mode on your system

When in SAFE MODE install “Malwarebytes” using your USB Stick copy

When installed, run a full scan of all your HDD

Reboot back into main windows again

Update “Malwarebytes” using the update page

Run another full scan of your HDD

Again trust me, this will not harm your system in any way, but only kill any bad stuff on it for you.

This is completely FREE, easy to do and WORKS so please try this first.

anti-malware programs are only as good as their databases are up to date

do they update automatically & frequently

did you configure them after installing to your needs or leave them at the defaults?

defaults offer the lower functional protection level

at 5 apps you may have some conflicts between them especially if theyre suites

some secuity apps do not like other competing apps running what so ever

you may have overwritted some windows files bear the same name during the install which may effect the functionality of the earlier apps installed

This is my scrip for removal of Virus and Malware and some things to think about before you do anything please Read first # 1 should clean most computers however there will be computer that need step #2 and real bad ones all of step #3

SYSTEM RESTORE bad idea if you think you have a virus it may spread it you can lose files or programs you paid for depends on when last restore was done. never do a restore without having a full backup

format: never format with out a full backup

If you don't have internet access:

go to control internet options click on connection tab LAN settings uncheck proxy server (unless you set this up or your ISP/Administrator) virus was probable using port 6555 for it update

1: Your computer may be infected it need to be clean. run a full virus scan if you don't have anti-virus go to download.com and get a free one. do not by one on line you are infected and you may end up giving you credit card info out to thieves if it won't let you download an anti virus program boot your computer in safe-mode with networking (that the press F8 key when you restart your computer) I recommend a cold start shut the computer down and leave it off 30 sec. then restart and press F8 remember pick with arrows keys safe-mode with networking login to windows when it come up and go to download.com and download Spybot search & Destroy or MalwareBytes both will install in safe mode and run do the updates for it and do a full scan then go to eset.com and do their free online virus scan.

if this doesn't work

2: you need to go to http://www.ubcd4win.com/ on a friends computer and build a a bootable CD or DVD download file is at http://www.securitywonks.net/listing/view/3/UBCD-for-Windows

and this one does it all will give you internet access to update the files for spybot search & destroy then run it. It free also when you get the computer back boot in safe mode with-networking (shift F8) and go to eset.com and do a free anti-virus scan make sure you put the disk in and then turn off the computer so it a cold boot

3: if all this fails then you must backup all your data to removable storage or pull your hard drive put in a new one install your operating system and your applications your anti-virus and anti-malware do all updates and put your data back (data doc, pictures music, passwords anything important on your computer) after it up and running change all

Download AVG 9.0 (Free), Update it, Run full system scan.( Make sure all other antivirus are disabled to prevent conflict!)

Download Malware bytes (Free), Update it, Run full system scan.( Make sure all other antivirus are disabled to prevent conflict! even AVG!)

If it finds anything get rid of it and then reboot.

Make sure your virus scanners are up to date and you disabled all the rest when scanning with one.
