Bad or Terrible. So many people are suggesting AVG when it is so much worse then Avast or Avira. Why wont people actually research things instead saying of AVG is the best when it is terrible.
If anyone is looking for a free anti virus use Avast or Avira. If you are using AVG switch to Avast if you want real protection.

Links for good free anti virus.

A bunch of peeps never read the download page is why,, says right on it,, no root kit protection.. But, what is new,, half of the peeps in here can not even google search stuff. Just come here and have us do it for them.. If they had of googled, they would have had an answer in seconds instead of minutes waiting for someone to answer their stupid question.

Terrible! I just read that it ALLOWS malware and adware. It didn't used to. I switched from AVG to AVAST because I noticed that AVG had gotten a bit sluggish. I had no idea why as I trusted the service and it WAS good at first. I loved Avast! too but found figuring out the interface a bit complicated and went back to AVG. Big mistake!

AVG Free 2016 comes bundled with Zen which is a 14 day trial and NOT free at all. You have to download AVG free separately from Zen. It's virtually impossible as you have no idea how to find AVG Free 2016 WITHOUT Zen on the AVG site.

I removed the AVG Zen package and just downloaded AVG Free 2016 after being given the link to get the free one. Huge huge mistake! When I first installed AVG I was able to read scan results with no program and close AVG out. This time around, after reading the scans results and trying to close out I received a "can't read memory" message. Possibly malware. I got rid of it and put Avast! back. No such issue with Avast! at all. AVG is malware friendly. I no longer trust it.

a very good observation.avg free sucks.avg fan-boy doesn't like it when you point out silly stuff like detection rates.avg free has lower detection rates than kaspersky, avira premium, eset nod32,avast and get this.... norton anti-virus 2009-2010.believe it or not.those are the facts even though the avg lovers will deny it.why is it so popular?well it is free.sometimes you do get what you pay for.computer noobs who spend all there time playing games, downloading porn and file sharing just hear avg free and that's good enough for them.im not saying everyone who uses avg gets hit .some people only run a firewall and don't get infected.at least for awhile.or ever.its called luck.but when the crap hits the fan then they show up on yahoo answers complaining they got a trojan and avg crap ware let them down.

I also think AVG free if rubbish. it detects a tracking cookie but dose not delete then. what is the logic in that? I like my norton internet security 2010 not a problem. but then again that's Premium. but yeah avg is not the best i wouldn't recommend it to people

People do not realise that rootkit protection is a must in antivirus product. AVG does not provide with free version (comes separately).

That is good enough reason for me not to use it.

Its good, but missing some features that are vital. Need the pay version for them.
