-What do you think of the new AVG 9.0?
-AVG upgraded TOOOO fast from version 8.5 to version 9. What do you think?
-What do you think of the features to the new 9.0 version?

I have been with AVG since 2007. Don't you think they upgraded from version 8.5 introduced at the start of this year to version 9?
I hope today (Sunday) was going to be another cruisy day. But when I ran update, the update said an option for program update, then gave me AVG 9.0 Internet Security.
AVG 9.0 Internet Security seems to now be much powerful, and has disabled windows defender and cant get windows defender up and running until I have finished experimenting and configuring with the new version 9.0.
I wasn't aware AVG was introducing a 9.0, at least NOT THIS FAST. And I do visit the AVG website at least once every month.
Identity protection is now tied into version 9.0, instead of being displayed seperately on the taskbar and you have to run optimization scan which takes a while. The graphics have also changed slightly. Well good bye version 8.5...

Upgrading to 9.0 was a *****. I got registry problems installing 8.5 then I tried installing 9.0 but, it couldn't without me uninstalling 8.5. I tried uninstalling 8.5 again but, it couldn't find the files to uninstall it or whatever. After restarting my computer several times I said to myself "Ok screw it, I'll do a system restore"

I did a system restore and after restarting my computer and logging in I get a critical error beep and my screen is completely black except for the cmd and the error message. My heart skipped a beat, but I clicked ok on the error message and I was navigated to my desktop.

So now I didn't have any anti-virus and 8.5 was still broken. So I try to setup 8.5 but, I can't since it was broken, corrupted or whatever. So I end up deleting 8.5 completely from the registry. Then I try to remove the AVG file from the program files and I get at least 5 pop ups saying that other programs wont work if I remove it. So I don't remove it.

Then I try to download 9.0 again but, I get this crazy error saying that avg.exe is not a valid win32 application. And then I find out that any file I download from the internet gets that error.

So I end up downloading AVG 9.0 on a different computer and using a USB stick to transfer to my computer. I run the setup and it finally installs 9.0 and removes 8.5 with no errors what-so-ever.

So finally after 8 hours of mind breaking work I get that stupid anti-virus to work and my computer is able to open files from the internet again.

But now I have this bug when I right click an item on the desktop it open up this weird context menu with a huge gap.

Anyways now that everything is back to normal, I think AVG 9.0 is a good anti-virus, except for installing it and they need to fix the bug with the context menu.

Sorry, But the best i can tell it's still just as sorry as it ever was. No root kit protection running in real time in the free version and it still struggles removing Mal ware. It still has no really good real time protection. Which means a machine running AVG will be infected before AVG ever even knows it. It has "no blocking the bad stuff" ability like others do. I'll never use it again. If i was going to use AVG i would have to use this with it.
