Hey there, I've been having some trouble with some kind of a spyware program, its affecting my browsing speeds and mainly my search engine results. When I go to click on a result, I will be taken to some random site that usually varies.

Now I'm not computer illiterate, I understand that a sweep with a spyware program usually works, I have tried with ad sweeper, and with my up to date Trend Micro. Each time they detect spyware, and deletes them, but when I try to click search results, it again will send me to a some other site.

I have tried going through the task manager looking for strange processes and services, as well as opening the msconfig settings to look for boot programs that may cause it. I can't find a thing.

Anyone out there with some comp skills think they can help me out?

Much appreciated.

1. Smitfraudfix

http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.php

After that's done, then restart the computer into Safe Mode.. While in Safe Mode, run the SmitFraudFix tool per the instructions in the link When it asks to reboot the computer, do so andfinish..

Once that's done, then follow the steps below:

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

* Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.

* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.

* Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.

* The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.

* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.

* Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.

* When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.

* The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM

If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Use this feature to block unwanted advertising re-direct:

With NS running, down on the far right corner is a blue 'S' with a red line through it: right click that> tick 'forbid -------' &/or mark as 'untrusted'.

Turn off 'spell check' may help, as this sends keystrokes back to the server also, which may be used to 'target' advertising.

Good luck. :)

programs that i would recommend:

AVG, spybot S&D, Ad-Aware

theses programs usually get rid of most things

if you cannot find anything then, use your anti-virus, spyware programs and find where they are located, boot using safe mode then delete.

good luck
