Yes. disconnecting is like hanging up the phone. He can't monitor you or send to you.

To expand on what the person above me said, yes if an actual hacker is on the other end connected to your computer, disconnecting from the internet will stop him. This means turning off the cable modem, unplugging the network cable, or turning off wireles, depending on your means of connecting. Closing your explorer windows is not enough.
However, as was mentioned, this will not stop whatever viruses, trogans, keyloggers, etc, that were installed while being hacked. These will continue to run and pose a hazard until the computer is cleaned. Often trogans and worms are the actual source of the hacking, not some dude with no life typing away in his mother's basement like many people imagine.

Basically - yes.
No internet connection = no way in for the hacker.
Any software planted by the hacking attack would still be active of course - but no contact with the web would stop it from "phoning home"

yes it will if you got hacked your firewall isnt doing what you paid for here is a free one that wins every year for leak tests
