Well of course it does, that what google does, you enter a query and google delivers the most relevant results for your search query.

You then pick a selection from the reults and Google Redirects you to that page,

You've been really vague with your question, So in order to help you, i'm going to try to assume what you meant to ask.

Search results should redirect from google, directly to the URL in the green writing. The URL is resolved in the appropriate DNS server and the IP address is obtained and that's how the browser knows what site to go to.

The IP addresses at the DNS servers are correct when they match IP addresses with URL's

But there are a few ways you can land on the site you did not want to go to.

Once a redirect by spyware or a virus.

Or take as an example www.bunnings.com

type www.bunnings.com into your browser hit enter

you go to www.bunnings.com.au

what happens here is, that bunnings owns the .com and .com.au domains.

When they setup the site they enable a redirect feature on the site which automatically bounces you from the .com to the .com.au

sometimes fraud sites use this tactic

Perhaps that explains a little for you

Hope this helps

If you are having trouble opening websites and are being redirected to websites other than the ones you'd like to go to, I would suggest that you run both an antivirus scan, as well as an antimalware scan.

If you need a free antivirus program, I would recommend Microsoft Security Essentials, which can be downloaded from the link below.

If you need a free antimalware program, perhaps you should try using MalwareBytes, which can be downloaded from the link below.

Also, perhaps you should try using Mozilla FireFox, which is a free browser that is safer than Internet Explorer that can be customized with a variety of different add-ons and themes. If you'd like to try using Mozilla FireFox, you can download it from the link below.

If you suspect that your computer is infected with the Google Redirect virus, below is a link to a forum thread from the Bleeping Computer website that may be able to help you remove this virus.

Good luck and I hope I helped you!

• Download and install Malwarebytes' Anti-malware.

• Restart your computer and press "F8" repeatedly before you see the Windows logo. This will bring you to the Windows Advanced Options Menu.

• Scroll down the menu and select "Safe Mode" to log into Windows Safe Mode.

• Launch your antivirus program. Perform a full system scan and delete all malicious files.

• Launch Malwarebytes' anti-malware and click the "Perform quick scan" radio button. Click "Scan." Malwarebytes will scan the system for malicious malware.

• Click "OK" when the scan is complete, then click "Show scan results." Place a check on all the detected malware and click "Remove selected." Malwarebyte's will remove all detected malware.

• Restart your computer normally to complete the process.

Sounds like it could be the Google re-direct virus...a real pain in the butt. :(

But, try a system restore and run a full-system virus scan. I'd go back about two weeks if you can.

I'd personally recommend Avast! or Microsoft Security Essentials...they both work pretty well, and are free.

This is most definitely a virus, and one we have seen a few times at the IT desk where I work. You can try and remove this malware a couple different ways using various types of software; if these don't work, you will need to reinstall Windows and wipe everything (after saving your personal data somewhere else, of course)

sounds like a form of spyware has infected you. Get "MalwareBytes" and scan your system. It is a free program and works very well
