They are processes running in my task manager......(as written they are lower case)

iexplorer.exe

(there is also explorer.exe running but this is not a virus)

svchost.exe

(this one has about 6 procceses all with the same name, some listed under system, local service and network sevice)

I have tried 3 anti virus programmes but no luck...(bullguard, AVG, Uniblue)

What can I do about this?? Are they even really viruses?? ths site told me they are...

Partly right, svchost.exe will run several times and nothing to worry about. iexplorer.exe (with the extra R) is run by adclicker and can be removed with most anti-spyware software (Ad-Aware. Spybot).

If it is iexplore.exe (no R at the end) it is a legitimate process, this is the name of internet explorer.

Neither of those are viruses, and if you keep trying to get rid of them, you will pooch your OS installation.

"iexplorer.exe" is Internet Explorer, which is your browser.

"explorer.exe" is your actual Windows Explorer, which is your operating system/Windows.

While Windows is called an operating system, it's actually just a blanket of sorts over the real operating system, which is usually DOS. In order for Windows to work, it has to run the Windows program, does that make sense?

The "svchost.exe" is also not a virus, and you'll likely see multiple copies of it running. Those are program files associated with multiple Windows features running on your system, so leave them alone, if you start ending them then you will end up crashing your system.

Hope this helps.

Although many people will tell you it is, the Internet Explorer is not a virus.

svchost is a system process which handles dll loading and may run more than once concurrently.

EDIT: Poster below me is right. Seems I missed the extra "r" which is exactly what the virus authors wanted.

These are genuine processes - run an anti-virus scan anyway to double check.

Sounds legit - but if you want to scan for viruses and spyware anyway I can recommend the guide at My Slow PC - http://myslowpc.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=5

They are not virus. AVG is good and will find a virus if you have one

These aren't viruses, so stop fretting.
