How to get rid of McAfee w/out uninstalling?

Pretty much I was very upset with my overall McAfee experience, the protection was terrible, the customer service was terrible, and for the past month my Security Center just shows up as a blank white screen. So anyway after hearing good things about Norton Security I decided to change things up. However in order to install Norton I need to get rid of McAfee, but because it always just shows up as a blank white box, I can't uninstall it. So I was wondering If there is another way to remove it. Any help is appreciated, Thanks.

Yeah it stinks. Go my computer and to the add/remove program tab and select the program and uninstall it. It may take awhile. If that does not work get on the web and download Revo Uninstaller (its free) and install it. Then launch the program and uninstall Macfee that way.



Norton is not much better. I personally us AVAST anti virus a totally free program for home use. VERY effective and updates on its own. Get it from the web. The other program is Spy Bot Search and Destroy which is also totally free and does and outstanding job cleaning the system of Malware and Spyware. You do have to download the updates weekly but it also is totally free. Get it from the web. I would STAY AWAY FROM NORTON!! Why buy when can get free?

Norton is pretty bad aswell. Try installing CCleaner from http://ccleaner.com, use Tools > Uninstall; to remove all the mcafee software. Microsoft actually has an antivirus/antispyware that is better then Norton and MCafee!

Just a question have you tried moving all virus program stuff into a singular file ir folder and then tring to delete the file or folder. It maybe a stupid idea and my not work. There are ways to get rid of it, but I got no time to explain now. Its 334 am and I feel like a crackhead. Ihave to sleep. You could include it in a curnal dump. You would have to set it through. F to tired. I'm really sorry. Maybe later if I can get back to you at a non retarded hour.

Ok your going with norton.....norton, really? If you want to pay, kaspersky is the best, but you don't have to pay for good protection. check out this comprehensive comparison of free AV's

I'd bet money you wont be happy with norton either.

Anyway, to unistall:

Start > Control panel > Programs and features (install/ uninstall) scroll down the list to McAfee, click uninstall.
