Click on control panel, click on add/delete programs. It will load a list of all of the programs and you can click on the ones you want to delete.

Ubuntu is far from the quickest and lightest tool for the job, I use Puppy Linux, but the instructions on this site are superb
It may also be that the file really doen't exist anymore and that your windows installtion is falling apart

it seems the files are deleted/inaccessible. have you tried rebooting? it might just jerk the OS into removing them from view. You could also try inferno which is a bit more aggressive when it comes to data erasure http://inferno.sourceforge.net/
Hope this helps :)

My computer did the same thing, I had to erase EVERYTHING on my computer, and start fresh. I just google searched it. And it came up with 323544234 different ways. You can drag the files to a flash drive that you want to keep , then follow instructions on one of the websites. Don't forget to type in your comp type and year and what software is in your computer. If you choose the wrong one, you could ruin your computer, hope this helps.

Well in that case it depends on the file that you are trying to delete. By the description you have mentioned above i get the feeling that this file that your trying to delete was installed on to your driver when you installed a software or a program. There are two ways to delete this file, either you reformat your Computer/Laptop which i don't really recommend, or you install the software or program that belonged to that file and then delete it or remove it all together.
