Uninstall the unreliable Mcaffe and install these:

AVG 8.0 free

ad aware 2007

or

Avast!

Ad aware 2007

run a full scan with them (if you can).

If you are unable to do any of these because your computer has been molested with spy ware, viruses, etc, backup the data that you feel is nonredeemable by download off of a site or p2p, and do a clean install of whatever OS you are using. Then download either the first option or the second option and you should be good to go...

edit:

Try not to use Internet explorer from now on either...

Internet explorer can also be the culprit...

Use These alternative web browsers instead...

Opera

Why is my computer slow? I bet you have asked yourself that very question time and time again. And for the most part, you probably just can not figure it out. Ask the guy next to you, and they probably don’t have the foggiest idea either. I mean, you may get the “spyware, virus” answer, but this most likely is not the case.

The first place I check when my computer starts to run slower is the registry. Yes, the registry. Most people don’t even know what, or where the registry is, and especially don’t understand how this can slow a computer down. Let me explain.

Basically, the registry files contain information and settings for all of the software, hardware, operating system software, and anything else running on your computer. Mess any of these files up, and the computer does not know how to function. The computer goes to start up the software, looks for the registry files, and either can not find it or finds something that does not look like it is suppose to look like. It then just sits there: it does not know what to do next. This is where the “hanging” or “locking up” of your computer comes from. These files will need to be fixed.

To fix the registry files, find a good quality registry repair software called registry cleaner and run it on your computer.Top 5 registry cleaners can be found in here: http://www.make-computer-faster.com/index.php?t=makepcf .It will tell you how many files are corrupted and need to be fixed. Just tell the software to fix it and it restores all of the registry files to their correct configuration. It is really that simple. It may take only about 5 minutes to perform this check. And then as a maintenance item for your computer, I would recommend performing this registry fix at least once a week. This will always ensure your registry files are good, and keep your computer running with no slow, freezing and errors. So if you find yourself asking why is my computer slow, I would check the registry files first.

Now you can check out

http://www.make-computer-faster.com/index.php?t=makepcf ,there are reviews of top rated registry cleaners and a clear guide to tell you how to speed up your computer. And from there you also can get a free scan to fix any problems such as computers slow, computer freezing, computer errors and getting the blue death screen.

Hope that can help you.

Dear

My solution can help you to speed up PC, to make the system run faster and more stable.1.You should often clean up temporary files folder.

This is because that several different applications will produce some temporary files by using the Windows. When you always surfing on the Internet, you might have frequently found the system disk got smaller and smaller in capacity. The system will save some temporary files in System disk after you visit the web page.If you don’t clean up temporary files folder in time, the disk space will be occupied by these temporary files and the speed will be dropped. What is more important is that a lot of virus and malicious procedures producing in the temporary files cause your systems to stop working.

2. To clean the valueless data in the registry

you can open the registry by entering "regedit" in Run menu from Start Menu of windows. You can make our system and your software more human by editing the registry. However, there are some great disadvantages in the registry. Security of WIN.INI and SYSTEM.INI that are the configuration procedures of the registry is not high and restricted by the size. That is, once your computer installed a lot of software, the registry was full, causing the speed of the system to slow. If you are a fan of net work, when you browse the network, hackers will change your registry and ultimately can control your computer or steal your important documents by making use of the character that the registry has low security. So you need frequently check the registry and delete the data that should be deleted.

3.If you don’t know the specific location where files should be cleaned up in, and are worried to delete system files by mistake, which makes the system impossible to operate normally.Don’t worry, I can supply you several optimization software. Maybe you don’t think the optimization software can help you out of distress. But they are your right arms. They can clean temporary files and the registry and your privacy, increases your PC speed.Well adapted to computer users at different competence levels. You can click the website http://computer-optimize.com/ to find the satisfied software

I wish my solution could help you.

Good luck

You can run antivirus and antispyware programs, but the sad fact is if you have found one virus on your computer, you probably have several. Cleaning the computer now requires you to follow these steps, because modern viruses and spyware entrench themselves in files that your computer needs in order to run:

1. Virus-check your data files (not application files-- you have installer CDs for those).

2. Back up the data files, getting them off your hard drive.

3. Get your original operating system CDs that came with your computer.

4. Boot your computer from the operating system CD.

5. Select the option that erases your hard drive and then reinstall your system software.

6. Turn on your software firewall that came with your operating system.

7. Reconnect to the internet, and download *all* Windows updates, no matter how long it takes.

8. Reinstall your application software, and update the applications as much as you can.

9. Reinstall your data files.

10. Create a limited user account on your system that does *not* have administrator access, and web surf only from this account.

Yes, this is a pain in the butt. No, there is no other way. No, antivirus and antispyware programs cannot fix this problem on its own.

So, what do you do in the future?

1. Never click on links you find in an e-mail.

2. Never open an e-mail attachment, ever.

3. Only download files from a reputable website that you know is on the up-and-up.

4. Never use bit-torrent and other file-sharing programs.

5. Never use an unsolicited drive-checking site.

6. Turn off all java and java scripting by default, and only enable java and java scripting for sites that you know you can trust.

7. Never read an unsolicited e-mail, and delete spam immediately. It is possible to be hacked by reading an e-mail alone.

Please adhere to the 'dont's' I provided above, because you will have to repeat the cleaning steps that I listed first *every time you get infected.* Anti-spyware and anti-virus programs are good to have, but they are a second line of defense. The best way to protect your system is you, and changing your behavior.

McAfee is junk (my opinion)you should only have one antivirus program, but you should always have at least 2 spyware/adware scanners to remove things. certain programs detect certain things that others bypass. i have a few cleanup and program suggestions. choose whichever you like. your computer safety programs might not be the safest depending on what they are. but i can guarentee my suggestions are safe. cleaning up your computer can make it run faster. also go to the start menu, then go to RUN, then type msconfig and choose the startup and you can enable or disable certain programs from starting when you boot your computer. but here are my suggestions:

*AVG is not as reliable as AVAST go to http://download.com and download it (search for Avast home) dont register it and when the demo is up, just uninstall it and reinstall it. it also helps because if you download a bad file from limewire or the internet, it alerts you immediately so you can delete it right away. certain AVG programs will be charging for updates soon and thats not good if you cant pay for them you ushould always keep your antivirus up to date. keep Avast home edition open in your toolbar at all times. it moniters alot of potentially harmful things its really great. if you dont have firewall i suggest downloading Zonealarm (which is free) and if you need antispyware, download Spybot search and destroy and superantispyware free edition

you might also want to download ccleaner to keep your computer cleaner make sure you keep any programs you download (that i suggested) updated

as for cleanup tips i

suggest the following; here are a few things to clean up your computer:first go to the start panel and click RUN then type %temp% then delete EVERYTHING in that file but not the file itself.(this will help you clean up your computer a little bit)

Also go to Mycomputer, Click drive C, then click the Windows Folder, then find the Prefetch Folder Open that (dont delete the folder itself) and delete all the items in that.

Also go to http://crucial.com to see how much RAM you have in your system. and then go to http://computermemoryoutlet.com if you want to buy RAM upgrades. its cheaper than buying it from crucial

http://safer-networking.org/en/spybotsd/

http://download.com

http://superantispyware.com

http://ccleaner.com

i use all of these and my computer has been virus free and running faster then ever

Well, McAfee is rubbish, so there you go.

Uninstall it and get these instead (for free):

Avira: http://www.free-av.com/ (if you don't have anti-virus, or if you have Norton or AVG replace it with this)

Spyware Terminator (turn off web security guard): http://www.spywareterminator.com/

Spybot: http://www.safer-networking.org/ (use immunise feature)

Superantispyware: http://www.superantispyware.com/

Comodo: http://www.comodofirewall.notlong.com/ (turn off defense+ to see fewer alerts)

Update all and scan your computer, removing or quarantining what is found.

In future, do not click on adverts, and do not download from dodgy websites promising free stuff that you have to pay for elsewhere.

Use firefox: http://www.mozilla.com/ and the AdBlock extension (http://tinyurl.com/2cd87q ) and whatever other useful extensions like Download Statusbar you want.
