I'm really sorry for you but I'd be really surprised if you could retrieve more than 10% of the contents.

Doing this proper demands a honest degree of computer awareness, in any different case your secure data could be fairly accessed. One user-friendly answer is to study out a loose application pronounced as truecrypt. Google for it. that's stable, and stable. you're able to additionally get instructed that homestead windows has encryption inbuilt, making use of something pronounced as EFS. it relatively is real, besides the incontrovertible fact that it may bring about all varieties of problems that could effect interior the shortcoming of your data, so I particularly propose which you do not use it. the main important situation with EFS is that, in case you lower back up encrypted data to something like a USB force, you won't be in a position to replica them lower back onto the different computer different than the single you copied them from interior the 1st place. a minimum of, not until you knew on the subject of the situation in strengthen and took the the final option steps to sidestep it. As I pronounced, EFS is risky and you fairly ought to sidestep it. attempt truecrypt. word: the respond below, approximately making use of the "encrypt contents to guard records" function, is telling you to apply EFS. do not!!!

Unfortunately, you're probably out of luck on this one. Drive encryption software is very serious, and if anything goes wrong during it's initial setup process, you may as well consider the data lost. Next time I recommend making a backup of your data before trying to encrypt it.
