In my opinion Lora A Hacker is infact a ethical hacker.

(Someone who hack's to help others not themselves)

A Hacker is thrown about instead of a more appropriate term 'Cracker'.

Any hacker who is expert enough could try and 'hack' your computer.

But quite frankly it's not worth it (For someone who could hack the CIA)

A Common 'Cracker' Would have to trick you using social engineering..

To establish a security hole within your computer..

(They trick you into running a program which will hinder the security)

Then they can easily have a direct connection to your computer.

With the Direct connection they might deploy spyware to watch your every move..

Or connect and sift through your computer to find info about you.

Maybe deploy some Rouge program that wants you to pay to remove it.

(In which case when you pay.. They'd have your bank details)

You wont know it has been hacked. One way is.. If your security programs..

Just close for no reason.. Then The 'Cracker' has probably connected.

They can narrow it down to An area from the IP (Say for EX: London)

To stop a Cracker... Reinstall the Computer Operating system Properly.

(Full format = Wipe everything and reinstall windows to remove security flaws)

Hope it helps :)

Hackers usually write computer programs that execute malicious code, giving them access to your whole system.

It's not always obvious that you have been hacked. Sometimes hackers can make a program install on your system without you even knowing. That's why you have to be very careful which websites you visit and which files you download.

Yes, if a hacker knows your email address then it could make hacking easier.

I imagine so.

Hackers can monitor any activity on your pc.

There's not much you can do to prevent hackers from invading your system, just make sure you are updating your anti-virus software and trying to avoid dangerous websites.

I'd like to point out that not all hackers do bad things. Black hat hackers are the ones who cause chaos, grey hat hackers are somewhere in-between and white hat hackers are the people who want to improve security and eliminate the black hats.

Hacking isn't just about breaking into computers and security, it's also about creating and building.

Crackers are the ones who perform malicious activity, hackers are white hats. Grey hats again, are somewhere in-between.

(1) Sending you an unsolicited e/mail that 'they' have installed trouble in.

(2) You opening that e/mail or link sent or you replying.

(3) They have your password....the list is endless.

A determined skilled hacker will 'get in' through perseverance. Once in - they can follow your actions on your computer via (such things as) implanting a 'key-logging program' which records all the keyboard actions you make.

You have more too fear from these data tracking companies that track 'us all'....every time we select a page - they knowing and following 'everywhere' you/we go on the Internet. Too help 'stop that'...download a .....'don't-track-me-device' - which (supposedly) blanks out your activity and 'they' knowing what you do.

The only thing Hackers can't do (unless they know you personally) is too find you or your address....they can only get your IP address which is useless too them and 'they' can't do anything with....unless they have 'insider broadband supplier' help/info. Only these authorities (government/police etc) 'have the power' to force the broadband provider to give them the info they want regarding your personal address etc.

Every time you enter facebook/youtube and anywhere else you choose too go....you will be tracked by these commercial data gathering companies BUT they can't (supposedly) find out your name/personal address etc.!!

The best you/we can do too protect ourselves (and its only limited) is too download the security devices that are available....like anti-virus etc - having done 'that' - we all take our chances when using our computers.

A hacker can use many ways of finding info about you. Just typing your public IP address (the address of your computer so web servers etc... know where to send data back) into an IP tracker can give quite a good accurate reading of where you are sometimes within a 1Km radius. Also key-loggers can be installed which intercept each key you press, also mouse clicks, programs open, even the particular website your on, which field (Text box) your typing in, can even take screen shots.

A hacker/spammer having your e-mail can definitely make you more at risk since an email selling market actually exists and the more that have your email the more emails you'll receive and the more likely you'll open a malicious email which then may download viruses, malware and even spyware.

Potentially Google is watching you, since most websites will leave cookies (A small file containing data like if your login session is still active, or your language) on your P.C and since the website name is also in the file, Google can sniff them out and target adverts at you from what you search.

Ways to avoid being hacked.......

Make sure you have an anti-virus, for windows I recommend MSE found here ------> http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security-essentials-download

Get Malware Bytes Anti-malware and fully scan your computer remove all threats, 30 day trial found here -----> http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?part=dl-10804572&subj=dl&tag=button

Download Ccleaner to remove cookies and temporary data here, run daily ------> http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download

You can also anonymously browse the web by using the Tor browser from the Tor project (Dont go on sites like Facebook because you most likely wont be able to get in to your account) but is okay for normal web browsing, you'll have to search using something like yahoo because Google donlike not being able to store cookie on your computer so they wont let you search using Tor, one last thing, Tor is basiclly a proxy however flashplayer is removed for safety although you can still enable it if you want to watch youtube videos..... the link ------> http://dw.com.com/redir?edId=3&siteId=4&oId=3000-2356_4-75660251&ontId=2356_4&spi=1b25c9444cd50a8b538001920ea7af3a&lop=link&tag=tdw_dltext

Also if you don't wish to use Tor there are other alternatives, download firefox ( http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/ ) and get these addons:

-HTTPS Everywhere - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/https-finder/?src=search

-Tor badge - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/tor-flashproxy-badge/?src=ss

-Do Not Track Me - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/donottrackplus/

-AdBlock Plus - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/

They can use your IP address to pinpoint the city where your internet provider is, but they can't find you or anything. A good thing to download is an anti male-ware program. Download Malwarebytes. The website is in the source below.
