there is no way to stop it, best thing is to never open any the mails confirming that your email address exists, also make sure you don't add your email address to any lists by always making sure you tick the privacy option on genuine sites that you enter your email address on.

Because you never theached your spamfilter how to handle them.

This is how to do: the mails that get through : you choose that mail and then simply click on "spam" or "mark as spam". That is all you have to do, now if the spamfiltre has doubts he can let pas one again then you mark it again as spam and from then he knows how to handle.

Trick: if somebody is stalking you with mail you can do the same with it....

By the way : the sender of the mail will get a message that it is marked as spam and they will stop sending when they notice it is useless.

You can leave the spammails in there or remove them it is no harm to leave them there, the spamfilter shall remove them automaticly after 30 days unless you change those settings.

You can NEVER stop it, it goes on forever. The only way to reduce it to almost nothing (to start with anyway), is to create a new email account, maybe on a different email service. Use a different name, not the same, as spammers try the same names with all email services...

Then, never post that email address on any web site or forums, so the spam bots can't find the new address and add it to their lists. Once you port your email address somewhere public, you will get lots of spam again...

Mail follows certain 'protocols' (or procedures) and part of it is that when you fetch your mail from the server, the message appears to the sender as "mail delivered to a valid address" so the bots know it's a valid address & keep sending junk (plus spread your address to other spammers).

Merely 'deleting' from your mail viewing application will not stop this cycle. 'Block sender' fails because it only blocks that specific sender & once the 'bots' discover your address, all they have to do is change a single character of the senders name, and they start getting their junk through again (depending on your filtering settings).

You want to end the notification of a valid address, from the Mail Server (your ISP).

Get a program that will examine what mail is on the server, and 'bounce' selected mail back to the spam sender ; in effect saying, 'This address is invalid' and they eventually stop sending junk. (Not instantly, but a "blacklist" is made, & it begins stopping spam).

Also, never 'click here to unsubscribe' or send ANY form of communication back to them: it only verifies that a live person is on your end of things.

'Mailwasher' Free, (1 POP3 mail account) works fairly well.

More app's here also.

A well know & trusted site.

After installing have these items displayed: 'Bounce' & 'Attachments' (never open any attachment), and any others you want.

To examine mail, hit the 'Check Mail' button, then sift through the mailbox; check "Bounce" for spam, delete stuff you just don't want to fiddle with, then "Process".

Mail can now be "fetched" from the server with your normal mail application.

One way to reduce spam is to change your email address and start afresh being far more careful what sites you visit and what mail you answer. Also, make sure you have good quality protection from a virus check/firewall system that also ensures your privacy. If you do not want to change your email address then you have to accept there will always be spam.

Hi, Just Me.

E-mail spam, also known as junk e-mail, is a subset of spam that involves nearly identical messages sent to numerous recipients by e-mail. A common synonym for spam is unsolicited bulk e-mail (UBE). Definitions of spam usually include the aspects that email is unsolicited and sent in bulk. "UCE" refers specifically to unsolicited commercial e-mail.

direct mail filters do the job of sorting e mail into 2 folders: inbox and bulk. the reason that filters do no longer straight away delete any e mail, is that some genuine e mail would finally end up interior the direct mail, and if its important, eg on line order or turning out to be a member of a paysite, then you quite ought to get carry of that e mail for password etc, regardless of the filter out seeing this as direct mail. you are able to then pick the e mail as "no longer direct mail". sometime it happens that the occasional direct mail slips by to the inbox. in simple terms delete it. regarding the majority mail folder you are able to delete manually after checking for the unusual genuine emails, or after a week or era which you distinctive, it deletes all emails in direct mail folder.
