If you want the Best Security out there you need to take these steps. You won't be 100% protected, there are things you can do to make your protection very strong. You can be much more protected than user who have what they think is the best AV, Firewall. They use multiple signature scanners based on anti-viruses, anti-spywares, anti-trojans and anti-rootkits. They think they are bullet proof. It becomes a serouis drag on performance of their computer. Many of these products do the same thing so you have over lap. They still get hit by malware. Even have to go as far as reformatting their computers. So what’s the answer? You need to put put maximum effort into preventing infection. Not in catching it then removing it. So here’s how you do it.

Always update windows leave auto updates on. Use a secure browsers like Firefox, Have a Firewall, Make sure your software is up to date. I’m talking about Adobe Reader, Java, your flash player, media players, what good is it to have all the protection and leave a hole for malware to enter your computer. There is a free program that will check for you. It’s a must have for every computer user. 1. http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/personal/

Use Mcafee site advisor or WOT. Never open an email attachments from untrusted sources. I open even trusted ones in a sandbox. Never download from untrusted sources. Don’t install programs inless you know they are clean. Use Virus Total or Jotti which will check them for free.

Get a good AV or Internet Security Suite. If they have anti-spyware with them. You should not need a real time anti-spyware program. If it make you feel better get SuperAntiSpyware Free or Malwarebytes use them for on demand scanning. Plus they can be your backup just in case. But in the last 2 years I’ve never found any Spyware on my computer. You can Use a Windows limited user account this is not a must at all if you use a sandbox. When surfing the internet ,opening emails, viewing videos online do it in a sandbox or virtual machine There are a couple of free programs for this or you can buy one.1. http://www.sandboxie.com/

1. http://www.returnilvirtualsystem.com/

So there it is. You need Secuia, a firewall or Internet security suite with firewall, or Anti-virus program and add a firewall. Mcafee site advisor or Wot. A back up anti-spyware program if you feel the need. Most important Surf in a Sandbox or virtual machine. Oh yeah use Firefox if you can.

Good security requires a multi-layered approach, and the least important layer by far is running some kind of anti-malware program (in fact, if you take care of all the other layers, you don't even need an anti-malware program using up extra resources).

In order of importance:

1. Create and use almost exclusively a limited user account instead of the default administrator account Windows sets you up with

2. Read up on social engineering and how to avoid it

3. Don't download illegal copies of software, music, or movies

4. Set Windows updates to install automatically

5. Make regular backups. If possible, back up your entire installation (using Norton Ghost or Acronis True Image)

29. Run antivirus software

I really do not want to confuse you by giving multiple names as you knew already.

But, here are few tips for you.

Better use VISTA Ultimate.

1. You are having UAC (User Access Control), which will block the third party installation without your knowledge.

2. You could create a user account which is restricted, (you will not have access to do any modificated related to the system files) So, no way to enter any virus onto your computer.

Note: If you are using either XP or Vista, then you could visit pcsafety.us

you will get all needed softwares in order to remove the virus from your computer.

I like to use AVG Internet Security along with MalwareBytes Anti-Malware (licensed edition for "real time" security).

That combination works excellent together , they are both real time programs that will run together and not stumble over each programs feet, so to speak

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is an anti-malware application that can thoroughly remove even the most advanced malware. It includes a number of features, including a built in protection monitor that blocks malicious processes before they even start.

AVG Internet Security provides a total security solution.

All-in-one protection

* Anti-Virus: protection against viruses, worms and trojans

* Anti-Spyware: protection against spyware, adware and identity-theft

* Anti-Rootkit: protection against hidden threats (rootkits)

* Anti-Spam: filters out unwanted and fraudulent e-mails (anti-phishing)

* Web Shield & LinkScanner: protection against malicious websites

* Firewall: protection against hackers

* System Tools: for easy system management

the sole element you rather elect is an anti-virus answer. ESET NOD32 is the wonderful anti-virus answer there is. that's no longer a private opinion, that's in line with self sufficient attempting out and evaluation, performed by utilising AV Comparatives, an agency it is the international over known by utilising secure practices experts international, which includes myself. They carry out month-to-month tests and for a while now ESET NOD32 leaves all its opposition in the back of. ESET NOD32 isn't costly, besides the undeniable fact that it is not freed from value. in case you do no longer elect to spend any money on an anti-virus answer and additionally you may settle for decrease than the wonderful, then use a freed from value anti-virus answer by utilising AVG, Avast or Avira to illustrate. As for inner maximum firewall application, there are various incorrect innovations going around. own firewall application isn't had to guard your pc against incoming community site visitors. Your pc will in ordinary terms settle for connections to facilities which you host. in case you do no longer host any facilities, there could be no incoming community site visitors besides ordinary danger unfastened information superhighway site visitors. own firewall application could be efficient in blocking off outgoing community site visitors. in case you have a scourge to illustrate which tries to hook up with the internet, a private firewall could be waiting to dam it. yet this potential that initially you may already be contaminated with a scourge and 2nd of all that's amazingly possibly that the virus will then have tampered alongside with your very own firewall application to boot if it controlled to get on your pc contained in the 1st place.
