I was wondering if there was anyway I could prevent emails from a specific sender from ever going to the spam folder. Thanks!

Most email services today have contact lists. You can add them to your contacts/address book and it should keep everything from that person out of the spam folder. You can also set up filters to never marking as spam for emails matching certain criteria (eg. keywords, sender address, subject)

Hard to go more specific since you don't say what email provider you use.

If I understand you correctly, you do not want to ever spam this person, add him/her to the list of preferred senders.

Amak & Trailerpark have the superb a million-2 punch to ok.O. this trash: substitute your handle (have 3: a million for basically direct to you stuff, like acquaintances; a million for real signups on web pages that it truly is nice to to handle; and a million for throw away meaningless issues). bounce mail, from the server, earlier you acquire it...that tells the bots your handle isn't a real one, and finally they give up sending rubbish. Mailwasher is incredibly stable for this.
