According to the Internet people on various forums for Unix/Linux and Apache I have to set it in /etc/apache2/envvars. After searching for over an hour I found that adding "umask 002" is enough. But that does not work. Has anyone ever successfully changed the umask for the user www-data ?
What is the correct syntax ? I'm sure I have to export it as environment variable. But what is the name of that environment variable ?

Apache inherits its umask from its parent process (i.e. the process starting Apache); this should typically be the /etc/init.d script. So put a umask command in that script.

Restart the computing device performed.
