A geniune answer to your question would be, depends on situation
1)
if you are connected to a system
netstat -a
2)
however if you want to see the IP address of person who mailed you. Go and see the full header of the mail, option their when you read the mail box
3) Make a server, and provide service to your client you obliviously can see then client IP
4) go to www.shivampatel.net
register thier a link for trace location of any person just put the link mailed to you any where and as any body clicks it you will get to know all details of the person from his location to IP address to OS/ Web browser , Your ISP

One more way of finding the ip:
if u r in d same network, run a "net view" command on the command prompt. U will get list of users who are logged onto the network. Now u simply ping the name u want the ip address of.

IP- Internet Protocol.
Every system has IP address.
u can find it in Internet properties dialogbox.
if u right click the Internet explorer,
u find properties,
by clicking it a dialogue box appears
in that dialogue box u can find properties
and by clicking it u can find TCP/IP properties
and by clicking it u can find the IP address

the only way to find out is to send them something over msn or icq or some file sharing system, while there downloading it ( an image, a song , whatever you want ) you go to start, all programs , accessorys, command prompt. then in command prompt type netstat the ip adress will come up on there, thats the only known accurate easy way

ask them.
Most people are behind a router and don't even know their public IP address. The router hands out local addresses.

They need to connect with your computer somehow if they don't want to just tell you. Then use that connection to find out which IP is connected.

That depends...if you are communicating with them through a messenger, chances are their messenger will ping your computer...therefore, you can install a firewall, that will tell you when your computer is getting pinged. you will than find out there IP address.
You can also do this through some mail programs

You can't unless it's displayed (like on message boards) or in the headers of an e-mail. To find yours, go to network-tools.com.
