Question:
What's the differences between the latest Norton Anti Virus, Norton Internet Security & Norton 360 Version 3.0?

I currently have a Norton 360 Version 2.0 subscription (from last year) for my dial up connection, which is set to end/expire later this month.

I don't have the box/packaging to the Internet Security Software (Norton 360 Version 2.0) I currently have.

I am wondering, although Symantec's Norton Anti Virus software, and Norton Internet Security 2009 software, are cheaper separately than the all in one Norton 360, what are the differences in comparison to each of those 3 products, and if I only bought Norton Anti Virus, or Norton Internet Security 2009, I would be missing out on some features of the other Norton software products, wouldn't I?

Doesn't Norton Anti Virus, and Norton Internet Security (2009), pretty much do the same things/functions?

Is it only the back-up functions (manual back-up, or 2 GB of online back-up storage) that set Norton 360 apart (different) to the other two Norton Products?

I back-up all my personal documents, files and folders manually on to CD RW.

i suggest you do not bother with norton as it's detection rate is a joke .

i suggest you try one of the many free anti virus systems.

they out-perform anything by norton.

i suggest you try Avast .

you can not get a better anti virus system for free.

it has many features you will have to pay for in other systems.

don't forget to register or you will only have it for 60 days

by registering you will get a licence for a full year.

just re-register at the end of the year to get another one year licence.

if you feel you would be even safer with a firewall also then

try this one it's also free and it has no conflicts with avast

over 80 million people who use Avast can't be wrong.

or can they.

The answer to your question 'what is the difference', can be found on their website:

http://www.symantec.com/norton/products/charts/comparison.jsp?pcid=is

If you decide to renew your Norton subscription, make sure you upgrade to the latest version via their website. The newest edition has improved from previous versions.

ESET NOD32, Kaspersky Anti-Virus and Avira AntiVir Premium are all very good if you are looking for something else. If you are going for a suite ('Internet Security' package), Kaspersky Internet Security is probably the best - it's a very good AV with a very good firewall. Have a look here: http://www.matousec.com/projects/firewall-challenge/results.php (note: only firewalls are tested here, not the AV).

Norton 360 version 3.0 = good

Kaspersky Internet Security = very good

Kaspersky AV + a good firewall = very good

ESET Smart Security = not that good (due to poor firewall)

ESET NOD32 + a good firewall = very good

Avira Security Suite = not that good (due to poor firewall)

Avira AntiVir Premium + a good firewall = very good

*A good, strong, fairly easy to use firewall is Online Armor - http://www.tallemu.com/

I recently had some computer problems too and I found a site that helps me with a lot of things...go to: http://fqvonline.info and click on "Hide My IP" about a quarter down their page for a FREE download! It not only allows you to protect your system, it also lets you surf anoynomously and gaurds against Hackers too!

Hope it helps, it did me!
