I am having great deal of difficulty installing windows 95. Please help?

I have microsoft vista operating system which consumes lots of memory and CPU. So I am trying to do a downgrade to windows 95 because it uses lightest memory and lightest resources out of all OS. Firstly when I purchased windows 95 from amazon, it was several floppy disks. I had no idea what the floppy disks were for since there was not even any floppy drive. I then went to an IT company who offered service of converting floppy to CD for 200 dollars. So I got the CD from the floppy. However the CD do not seem to work at all. Everything is getting messed up. Computer keeps crashing whenever i install the setup CD. Either there is no reaction, it freezes or 'unrecognized program' keep appearing. So then what I did is I deleted the entire hard drive including the vista OS too. And on the blank HD, i inserted the win 95 setup CD, and again nothing happened and everything seemed to crash. I think the CD has viruses in it. I contacted the IT company who made CD telling them of the trouble I had. They said they can create virtual computer windows 95 for me and that fee will be 400 dollars for it. What to do in this situation? I am using another computer and having deleted vista already on the original computer, i cannot even re-install vista since I no more have the product key and have no vista CD.

Make & model of pc = unknown

I take it the PC use to have Vista, sometime back I tried to put XP onto a dell which use to have vista on it & it did not work (dell PC with vista won't run XP), I remember win 95, its very unlikely a PC made for vista would run win 95, remember win 95 is no longer supported by microsoft.

If i was going to downgrade a vista PC I would downgrade it to XP not win 95, but first check the PC can handle XP

You State "I have microsoft vista operating system which consumes lots of memory and CPU" - more info on what ram & processor the PC has would help us, also what AV you was using ?

I would not downgrade the PC I would put vista back on - then find out why the PC is consuming lots of memory and CPU - i do take emails.

Tips:

XP & Vista use NTFS

Win 95 uses fat32.

The answer to your problem should have been -upgrade to win 7. Your pc would have probably flow like a bird if you had moved to Win 7. Best of luck sorting your mess out now.

real at first scrap the pc, it is not worth it... whether u do get fortunate and Xp (for some reason) does load onto that pc it is going to expend a million/3 of thechronic. it is going to be very slow and could be a wsate if the money that XP expenses in case you place it onto a computer like that

You might have bought the upgrade and not the full version.

Here is the full version on CD:
