Only if you download the wrong "Songs".
Tips for staying virus free on LimeWire:
Only download songs with a displayed bitrate.
Let's say you type in "madonna hung up" and you get a result that just says "madonna hung up" (no capitalization, just the exact words you typed in), then it's a virus. A real song would say "Hung Up - Madonna"
The size of the file should be the right size for a song, about 4-5 megabytes for an average song length.
To test whether a file is a song or a virus, double click the song while it's still downloading (20% downloaded) and see if it plays a sample of what it's already downloaded. If you hear nothing, it's a virus. If you hear the song, it's a song.
NEVER EVER download a .EXE or .exe file type! That's the big warning sign that in other words says .VIRUS or .virus.
