How do I get rid of one of the Windows security alert viruses?

I was recently having trouble with iTunes and it's compatibility with my current service pack (I just got a new iPod, had service pack one, needed SP3 to DL iTunes) and in my fury to find fixes for my problem, I apparently downloaded the Windows Security Alert virus... again.

I've dealt with this before: that's why I have Spybot and the TeaTimer program. But now, I'm seeing a very different incarnation of this virus than what I saw before.

It's hard to tell what is actually my new Service Pack and what is actually the Virus. In my tray, I see a yellow shield with an exclamation point that when rolled over says 'Your computer has not been restarted since you last installed updates. Click here to complete installation.' when I click it, it brings up the automatic update window, looking completely normal. The other suspicious tray icon I have is something I am completely sure is the virus. It is a red shield with an 'x' in the center, when rolled over it says 'Windows Security Alerts'. When clicked on, it gives the skeevy little advert that is supposed to look like an antivirus software.

The last thing is that when I go to restart my computer, the box that pops up with the options has something peculiar on one of the buttons. On the 'restart' button, it has a shield with the windows flag colors in the top right corner. At the bottom of the window, it says that I have yet to restart with automatic updates, if I want to install the updates, click the shield, if not, click a link, blah blah.

I've NEVER seen that before.

It seems really, really weird to me.

I need help; my computer is going way slower than usual, I'm afraid to restart it, and I'm afraid that it's going to escalate to the point that I won't be able to use my task manager, restart my computer or even use control panel, likes some people have reported.

Obviously, I've used antivirus and spyware protection software. I've looked online and I can find nothing.

Alright i'll help you through this. First of all, go to google and download MalwareByte's AntiMalware. Update if possible. Run a full scan. When done, click show results, and then click all of the objects. Then click Remove Selected. After, it may tell ypu that it could not remove some viruses. If so, restart right away, and after you have restarted then download ATF cleaner. Run it, and click Select all. Then click empty selected. You should be all set to go after that. It should remove everything. You should also consider getting a firewall like Zonealarm. Then also get an anti-virus and an anti-spyware product. Nod32 works well.

Red sheild appeared on the bottom right of my screen in the tool bar - this is Trojan infection most likely Trojan Zlob.

Trojan Zlob Shows fake security alerts in your task bar and fake security toolbar in your browser.

You are infected. These alerts wants you to download and buy rogue anti-spyware programs. Or it cam install automatically, without your permission, one of these software.
