Every time I try to get into my Yahoo iget the above on my screen. It say info you exchange with this site cannot be viewed or changed by othes. However there is a problem with the site's security certificate. It then lists 3 options and the one that is highlighted is that the security certificate has expired. I have recently had my computer wiped of all viruses etc as the computer shop I took it too said that would get rid of the problem.

At the same time can anyone tell me how to get rid of the spam messages I keep receiving. They go into my spam folder but I am receiving at least 200 per week.

Get a system restore disc from your computer manufacturer by calling their 800 support number or going to their online website. I got one from HP for $15. You can re-load the computer yourself and you don't have to pay big bucks for a techie to do it.

After re-loading windows into the computer, add a virus protection software, like Norton Internet Security, etc. and change all your passwords and secret questions (ie like for ebay).Re-load your printer drive, MS office, internet software, etc. That should do it. You can block individual emails or mark them as spam. Keep a separate email account for spam to go to and one email account for friends and family. Use the spam email account (hotmail or yahoo) for things that might attract spam (websites).

You can complain to abuse@yahoo.com Yahoo is suppose to filter as much spam as possible.

If you have ever opened any of the spam tht you received that you have caused your self a lot of grief, being when yo open any spam messages the originator knows that the email has been opened and there is actually a real person on the other end.

Then you will get a lot more being your email address will be passed around to spammers.

If this is a Windows security alert, this link will tell you more about how to deal with this. If you have had your computer cleaned of viruses and spyware, then you need all the Windows updates and patches after SP2.

Spam that goes into your bulk folder is SUPPOSED to go into the bulk folder. That keeps it out of your inbox. You really don't need to be counting the actual number of spam messages you get daily - I can think of a lot more productive use of time than that. You can go into Options then Spam and set your Bulk folder so that all spam messages are automatically deleted as fast as they arrive. Then you don't have to waste your time counting them. Otherwise, there has been a marked increase in the amount of spam lately. You aren't the only one getting it.

possible causes for certificate problems:

1) Your computer's date-time is set wrong.

2) some kind of phishing. that is, you are not really visiting yahoo, but are being redirected to another site that was made to look just like yahoo. This is the purpose of these certificates to warn you about this.

3) some other problem with the browser. Try using a different browser or a different computer to compare the behavior

exact or very simaler problem to myself,i have recently had my computer in the shop,to get formatted and before it went in it pased all security checks etc validation,i have the correct key number etc,now every time i log on it says security this could be blahhh bla bla, when i know for a fact it isn't so them in the shop must of used a copy disc or something, also about your spam, when i go into my security now,i still get up dates but it says my security was stopped or hasn't started, and the fire wall is switched off,so i am wondering if that could be the cause of yours, all your spam etc,all i done to rectifie that problem i down loaded zone alarm free all in one and i haven't had any more bother at all.
