Whoa! 5 million KB is 5GB. That's a lot. However, if they are located in the temporary folder and it wasn't you who put it there then yes it is safe to remove it. Just make sure that no other programs are running in the background when you run CCleaner.

As long as your CCleaner is on default settings you can safely delete everything. Do you defragment your disc? That could be another problem. I don't know which version of windows you are running but disc defragmenter does not seem to work on vista in auto mode, at least not on the computers I worked on. You will have to do it manually. If that does not work and you want my help I will need more info.

It is. System temporary files, are files that programs in your computer create for various reasons, but that files only serve for the time that they where created, for example, you open your messenger, and messenger creates one temporary file, then you exit messenger, the temporary file will stay but messenger will never need that file again, it's garbage literally. You should everyday clean it. Because temporary files slow down your computer a lot. So go ahead.

hi the yahoo man, let's do make your computer run better so reboot when you see your windows logo start tapping f8 there scrol down to last good configuration(advance) now when you get to the desktop go to control panel then hit your computer options there delete your history and cookies this will remove a lot of old files now to to backup and restore there go to restore go back as far as you can then hit apply your computer will restore and reboot. when you get back to your computer then go to system tools if you have windows xp or vista but if you have windows 7 beta go to performance and information there is your clean disk now check all of the boxes except for thumbnail and your system will ask do you want to delete these files say yes. very fast now for windows 7 beta go to advance and hit defragment for vista your defragment is in system tools now this is important to your system so make sure that you complete this step. good luck hope i was helpful to you

big question did it say temp files or temporary files? If it said temp files then if you delete them then you won't be able to start windows anymore and your going get an error everytime then windows will crash on you. if it said temporary then you can delete the files just don't delete the folder itself.
