Try this on friends pc or 2nd pc if you have.

Avira AntiVir Rescue Disk, A free bootable antivirus rescue disk to clean virus without booting Windows operating system first. As I have written free bootable rescue disk list before, Avira Antivir rescue disk is definitely one of them to remove virus under clean and safe operating system environment. The offline scan of the Avira AntiVir Rescue CD can also be used to examine an infected computer. This helps to detect malware before it gets active or before it is difficult to remove once the operating system is active. Stealth viruses no longer remain hidden: The Rescue System blocks the disguised harmful programs providing a clean operating system.

However, Avira Antivir Rescue Disk is similar like most of bootable Rescue CD builds developed under Linux Live CD distribution whereby it can load a simple operating system without writing any system files on your hard drive. Beside that, Avira AntiVir Rescue System is updated several times a day (contains the current virus definitions VDF) so that the most recent security updates are always available.

How to create bootable Avira Antivir Rescue Disk:

1. Download Avira Antivir Rescue Disk ISO file

http://www.avira.com/en/support/support_downloads.html

2. Burn the Avira Antivir Disk ISO image to a CD media using CD/DVD burning software.

Use Download ImgBurn : http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download

3. Once finish burn Avira Antivir Rescue Disk into bootable CD media, insert Bootable Avira Antivir Rescue Disk CD into CD ROM and boot the computer by loading CD ROM media first.

4. Then a DOS screen will be loading below. Choose option 2 to start booting DOS Avira Rescue system.

5. Once loading into Avira Rescue System, you will see main menu option. Then you choose the virus scan option and hit ” Enter “. You get to select whether to scan all files, only program files or only boot sectors. If Avira Rescue System is unable to repair infected files, you have the option to rename the files.

You can run antivirus and antispyware programs, but the sad fact is if you have found one virus on your computer, you probably have several. Cleaning the computer now requires you to follow these steps, because modern viruses and spyware entrench themselves in files that your computer needs in order to run:

1. Virus-check your data files (not application files-- you have installer CDs for those).

2. Back up the data files, getting them off your hard drive.

3. Get your original operating system CDs that came with your computer.

4. Boot your computer from the operating system CD.

5. Select the option that erases your hard drive and then reinstall your system software.

6. Turn on your software firewall that came with your operating system.

7. Reconnect to the internet, and download *all* Windows updates, no matter how long it takes.

8. Reinstall your application software, and update the applications as much as you can.

9. Reinstall your data files.

10. Create a limited user account on your system that does *not* have administrator access, and web surf only from this account.

Yes, this is a pain in the butt. No, there is no other way. No, antivirus and antispyware programs cannot fix this problem on its own.

So, what do you do in the future?

1. Never click on links you find in an e-mail.

2. Never open an e-mail attachment, ever.

3. Only download files from a reputable website that you know is on the up-and-up.

4. Never use bit-torrent and other file-sharing programs.

5. Never use an unsolicited drive-checking site.

6. Turn off all java and java scripting by default, and only enable java and java scripting for sites that you know you can trust.

7. Never read an unsolicited e-mail, and delete spam immediately. It is possible to be hacked by reading an e-mail alone.

Please adhere to the 'dont's' I provided above, because you will have to repeat the cleaning steps that I listed first *every time you get infected.* Anti-spyware and anti-virus programs are good to have, but they are a second line of defense. The best way to protect your system is you, and changing your behavior.

Good luck!

Sometimes worms and trojans will make changes to the shell\open\command registry entries as part of their infections. This will cause the virus to run each time you try to run an .exe file such as the Registry Editor. In these cases, visit Symantec's website and download the UnHookExec.inf file to your desktop. Right-click on it and choose Install. Restart your computer and then try to open the Registry Editor.

Try fighting the malware in Safe Mode With Networking. That sometimes keeps malware from defending itself.

Also, turn off System Restore to evict any copies of bad stuff that might be lurking there.

To get into Safe Mode with Networking:

1. Log out and reboot your machine.

2. When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly.

3. Select Safe Mode with Networking from the resulting menu.

4. Login. If the malware has changed your password, try logging in as Administrator. By default, Administrator has no password.

5. The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different.

6. When you're finished doing what you need to do, log out and reboot back into normal mode.

Note that even if the anti-malware programs get rid of the malware, they may not be able to reverse the effects. Search the Web for possible fixes. For the regedit disablement, try this:

1. Click the Start Button.

2. Click the Run Command.

3. In the Run Command Windows enter:

REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\ CurrentVersion\Policies\ System /v DisableRegistryTools /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

NOTE: If you copy and paste that into something, delete the blanks I inserted in the HKCU string before CurrentVersion and System to keep Yahoo! Answers from truncating it.

4. Restart the computer.

Good luck.

Hello Roc-a-killa,

It sounds like your computer is suffering from many different things. It is probably infected with viruses, spyware, adware, malware, and trojan viruses. Most often, when one of these pesky programs gets in, it opens the floodgates to other dangerous programs.

I suggest downloading an anti virus program, anti spyware program, ccleaner, and comodo firewall to a usb, and then use that to install on the infected computer using safe mode (press F8 when turning the computer on).

There are many different free anti-virus programs. Try googling avira, avg, avast, all of these are free and work quite well. Anyone of these free programs should be able to solve your problem.

Also make sure to install and run a good firewall. I recommend either comodo or firewall. Both of which are free to install and use.

Last but not least, install a good anti-spyware program (yes it's different than an anti-virus program). I recommend malwarebytes.

Do the above, and your computer should work like a charm.

Good Luck!
