my computer has got a virus which as soon as the Avg is notifying me of the virus it is opening my documents and the title of the window says my documents online scan. and i end up shutting down my computer as soon as this happened. i have tried to work on safe mode and scan the computer but no virus or infections are found. so how can i get rid of this virus. i also encountered trojan horse virus but i think my anit virus (avg anti virus) was able to fix it but now i'm not sure about it either. please can some one advise me how to get rid of this problem.

also if i copy my whole my document file on an external hard drive will the virus be there in the my document file??

Get into safe mode with networking.

Go to download.com and get Malwarebytes.

After it is installed, find the mbam.exe file and change it to xxx.exe.

Update it and run a full scan.

Delete whatever it finds.

That's it.

This same method will work with the Conficker worm in most cases as well.

Formatting is the absolute LAST resort.

Also, do not copy anything to anywhere until you have gotten rid of your problems.

Also, a system restore will not get rid of infected files, so don't bother.
