I had a guy pay me $1,100 for my phone. The confirmation email went to my "junk" folded in my email. Is this a scam?

SCAM

Never trust any emails. Go to Paypal.com and if there is NO money, you got a spoofed email

If it says you have to provide a tracking number before you will see the money, that scam has been going around for years. Forward it to spoof@paypal.com and change your Paypal email ASAP. Not only is this scammer trying to steal your phone - they also use password hacking software to hack your Paypal account

This article from 2008 explains how this very common scam works. While it says Nigeria and laptop, it happens all over the world and also happens with phones, cameras, designer watches, etc

Besides NOBODY pays $1100 for a phone. These scammers count on finding people whose greed is stronger than their common sense

I have a internet business and sometime the transactions for whatever reason end up in my spam file even though I whitelisted PayPal...to confirm the transaction just log into your PayPal and see if you've been paid.

Not a scam unless the payment didn't show up.
