First, change your password to a mix of numbers and letters. Secondly, if you have opened any sort of attatchment that has been sent (like something that said "downlod" or something that required you to open from an email, a virus could have been downloaded into your comoputer) However, if you have opened any sort of attatchment from her emails , then even changing your password would not help. Either go buy or get a really good antivirus program orr, just totally reformat the computer and change your passwords to everything. 'cause if you have a virus, he will already have known all of your passwords. Unfortunately, you cant really "detect" if he's hacking your computer unless you have a program that alerts you when a hacker is getting in, then match the I.P. address that is reported to his home or your friends home computer. other then that, there is really no way to catch him except red handed or by going thru his history of his internet usage.

If he actually "hacked" into your e-mail more than likely he just cracked your password somehow or he used the feature that most e-mail services offer to change or retrieve your current password. In both cases he would either need special technology and/or special knowledge of you and you personal information. If you feel that he's capable technically and/or has enough knowledge about you to obtain your password then you should take it seriously. If he used a brute force attack (or something similar) to crack your password you would really never be able to tell. In this case need to look for mysterious activity. In the later case your technical support should be able to tell you if there was a request to retrieve or change your password. I suggest two things:

1) Change your current password to a complicated one that uses special characters (if supported) in addition to alpha- numeric characters.

2) If you feel your privacy is sufficiently at risk then open a new e-mail account. It's very easy to do nowadays.

Check your sent messages and see if there was any messages sent out that was not you. Email Yahoo! and they might be able to track the IP address and see who sent it. Maybe even block them? As of right now, change your password and security question. If the problem persist im pretty sure that Yahoo! will help you out. Good Luck.

Delete your email account, create a new one...

Give your family and business contacts the address...

and most importantly don't give this woman whose husband is hacking email accounts your new address

Good luck

I've got the same problem but from my ex-husband...

I change my password every week and still have a problem anyway....

So far, no anti-virus or anti-spy program is able to stop it.

Uninstall yahoo messenger, some smart programmers can misuse it to spy on your activities....

Life sucks.

You really should stop dating a married gal though.

the best answer is to change your password.

and your girlfriend should do the same.

but then again, she could just be playing it safe if her husband is rifling through her stuff because he suspects she's cheating on him. and perhaps you're also being a bit paranoid. either way, you should change your password on a regular basis anyway.

firewall your computer and base it from outlook or something. Then, he can't see what comes into your computer without bypassing the email security, which could get the person arrested

On your firewall, block port 110 temporarily and use port 995.
