for Shockwave_Installer_Full.exe and Shockwave_Installer_Slim.exe. I'm running win xp and have read that ClamAV has a high false positive rate for Windows. Any suggestions on how to determine if the scan results are correct?

Well, by the detection name it appears to be a Potentially Unwanted Application (I am not familiarized with clamav's nomenclature but still). It is definitely a packed (compressed but still runs) executable, so it should just be a overeager false detection.
I use a different free antivirus, avast (www.avast.com), which just requires you request a free key once a year and tells you when to do it (it doesn't check the details you use, so just use gibberish).
