Unknown robot eating up bandwidth..what would be the solution?

Hello,

I am watching my AWStats data and following are eating up my bandwidth heavily. What are those? Can I control them eating up unnecessary bandwidth?

Unknown robot (identified by empty user agent string)
Unknown robot (identified by 'robot')
Unknown robot (identified by 'spider')

Thanks in advance for any help.

Block Their IP from cPanel.

Install "ZoneAlarm" firewall. Block the access of internet for these applications and it will work.



if you are unable to find the appication, just go to RUN, type CMD and press ENTER key. use NETSTAT command. Find the port associated with the bots.. block them using the Port setting in Windows Firewall.
