Is the McAfee Site Advisor safe? Is it connected with att?

I am a bit nervous. I only downloaded it because I thought ATT sent it as an update. So whats up? Is this some sort of trojan horse? Is this the real deal or a scam? MSA sounds too good to be true. OR I am getting too suspicious. Thanks for any answers.

McAfee SiteAdvisor is 100% safe, I have been using it for years now.



It is not a trojan horse, SiteAdvisor has tested millions of websites and will change from green to yellow to red depending upon how safe the site may be. Its not always right but it sure can help from landing on a malicious site.



Of course you still need to use a good anti-virus, SiteAdvisor is just another layer of protection for your machine.

No how can you trust? the McAfee site advisor is not a legal authority for this, i am not saying its completely a crap! but how can they judge all the sites of the internet correctly, the are more than 1 Billion sites on the net and every day new 1000 sites arose! And please dont see the site advisor for the correction of the stuff of a site, when there is a talk of viruses you should be satisfied with your Antivirus, Antispyware, Firewall and other security programs But Yeah! You can trust the McAfee site advisor for making a mail account or giving your personal details to the site. Hope that Helps!

You can trust McAfee Site Advisor 99% of the time nothing is 100% perfect but its a lot better then not using site advisor and relying on luck to avoid bad sites. Also if there's a site marked as safe that you are unsure of then click on "View site details" and read any user reviews on there I find its a very valuable resource for checking whether there are any problems with a site.

McAfee Site Advisor is safe and is a service that provides the user with information on a site as to whether it is safe or not or is known to plant or hit a visitor with spyware or malware. About the worst that it can do to you is to maybe become a nuisance or annoying about telling you about a sites' safe-or not-rating all the time to where it starts to feel like a pest sometimes. McAfee Site Advisor is a very good add-on for your browser & warns you about bad sites. Well worth using. It supposedly tests websites.



However, your "I 'thought' ATT sent it" would be a concern. Either ATT sent it or not. You need to be sure. If in doubt, don't use that one. Go to McAfee's site & download it from there, so you ARE sure of what you're getting. http://www.siteadvisor.com/



If you use Firefox, try the Web of Trust add-on. It's similar to Site Advisor & it seems to be faster. It's saved my bacon a lot of times.

McAfee site advisor is safe and it's free. It tells you what sites are safe or not to visit. I have it myself. Just make sure you download it from their official website.

Do not use that, Norton, or anything you have to pay for. I cannot imagine ATT sending out something like that. It is probably a scam/virus/spyware, yes.
