Question:
How do I get rid of CiD pop ups and the Norton Fraud Monitor?
2008-06-23 00:04:43 UTC
I've got MSN messenger plus but when I go to disinstall the sponsership (CiD) it doesn't give me the option to do so. I've got AVG, yahoo Anti-spy, nlop and ccleaner, and nothing has worked.
And I've also got this fooking Norton Fruad Monitor toolbar thing on top of my screen that I can't get rid of...

Any ideas? I've looked everywhere and tried all that I've found so far...

Its bundled with msn messenger live and should be in add/remove programs, if its not follow the instructions below:

first download superantispyware: (the free edition is good enough)

http://www.superantispyware.com/download.html

it will probably launch straight after download, if it doesnt get rid of cid straight away:

boot into safe mode (press F8 repeatedly at boot up)

go to my computer > top task bar > click view or tools (depends what operating system you have) folder options > tick 'view hidden files and folders'

run superantispyware

rehide files and folders

reboot

you need to verify for spyware. save on with the instructions for scanning in secure mode. the subject is that the virus is rolling returned right into a common state and reinstalling itself out of your startup menu on reboot. you will maximum probable locate some randomly named executable document on your C:documents and SettingsApplication documents. you will ought to disable rollbacks with a view to do away with this spyware. as quickly as you do this, reboot your gadget into secure mode and look interior the startup menu for the executable software (.exe) it rather is setting up the spyware. eliminate the startup and then eliminate this technique it factors to. After that, run your virus scanner. this ought to do away with the subject. you may then enable rollbacks and reboot.
