For the past 3 or so days my laptop has been acting really slow, so I thought there might be a chance of a virus or some bug of a sort, or some program was using all the CPU Usage...Well after McAfee and TrendMicro programs didn't pick up on anything being wrong, i went to the task manager. I was scrolling through the processes and was looking up one's i wasn't familiar with and found on named

Isass.exe (that is i as in intel... isass.exe)

the internet said its a serious Trojan but McAfee, TrendMicro, and Spybot haven't been able to detect it, better yet remove it...

How can I get rid of the file or remove it or do anything to stop it?! (when i hit the "End Process" button it says that it is a "critical system process, Task Manager can not end it")

...Help

Sorry for the delay - just logged in:

Free - For starters, download, update and run a full scan using SuperAntiSpyware (SAS) http://www.superantispyware.com/

SAS is an exceptionally easy to use application that will remove the majority of difficult Trojans and Worms, not just the easy ones. In addition it has the ability to remove Vundo and Smitfraud infections. SAS can lock your home page to prevent browser hi-jacking attempts.

If possible it is recommended that you load SAS in normal mode but run it in Safe Mode. Safe Mode can be started by continually pressing F8 during the boot sequence. If you are badly infected you might need to run SAS more than once to help clean your system. Afterwards if the only infections now being shown are in System Restore, once you are completely satisfied that you can boot normally, you can either delete the infected restore points manually, or temporarily turn off System Restore to purge the files.

Assuming you have some real awkward infections that persist even after trying all the above I suggest you download a dedicated Smitfraud removal program from:

http://www.afterdawn.com/software/desktop_software/desktop_security/smitfraudfix.cfm

If possible run in Safe Mode.

Likewise the dedicated VundoFix:

Good luck & safe surfing.

Local Security Authority Subsystem Service - Wikipedia, the free ...Local Security Authority Subsystem Service (LSASS), is a process in Microsoft Windows operating systems that is responsible for enforcing the security ...

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Local_Security_Authority_Subsystem_Service - 39k -

I recommend Kaspersky. Get a 30day trial.

Your system might be slow due to the antivirus programs running in the background.

Try this:

Start > Run > Services.msc . You can disable unnecessary services which may affect speed.

Also:

Start > Run > MsConfig . Uncheck programs that load when you boot.

Slow speed can result from various reasons. Try deleting contents of TMP and TEMP folders, especially large files. Try increasing your virtual memory or making more space on your hard disk.

Task Manager is right, lsass.exe (that's with an "el", not an "eye") IS a critical system task. It stands for Local Security Account Storage Subsystem. It is part of the guts of Windows, it is not a virus of any kind. If you somehow were to prevent lsass.exe from running, you would never be able to log in to your computer again. Don't worry about it.

I do not know if this is a virus, or part of the Windows Files, but lets say it is a virus. Simply Open task manager, Open up "processes". End the process of the virus name. And delete the virus off of your harddrive. If you cant find it open Search and search the .exe file name.

in many circumstances i could say to reinstall vista the only situation you're able to do is to reformat your tensechronic with the restoration disk ti will delete each and every little thing even though it is going to do away with the trojan because of fact it deletes each and every little thing equipment data and all even the grasp boot series and the reloads it. if that would not restoration the situation then it incredibly is a hardware situation with the products of the computer.

lsass (l as in lollypop) is a windows security feature. It should be there. In the event that it is malfunctioning try using your windows cd to repair windows.
