I run XP on my work computer with Microsoft Essentials for protection, using Mozilla Safe Mode.
This new icon, red square with what appears to be a flower showed up this morning, saying
"Update is ready to install". I 'm worried it's a virus. Anyone else come across this one?

Thanks for you input.

This is probably Adobe Updater's notification to update your Adobe reader. Just got it this morning myself, it's no big deal...

I also have a new and unrecognized icon saying the same . It is red with a sparsely drawn white and yellow flower and stem diagonally from bottom left to top right.

I have an image of it but can't figure out how to attach to this message. I just ended process running under my login named UdaterUI.exe (or something like that), moused over the icon on the task bar and it disappeared. So they seem to be related.

pic would help, or right click it, go to properties and see where it's located and what file it's pointed to. Then you can google the file

Good God! DON"T click on it!!!! It is a virus that will open and ruin your computer -- I hope you haven't touched it -- it is NOT adobe update -- it would say it was adobe!! Please let me know you didn't click on it : (
