lately i found out that my computer cannot connect to any internet connections at all, i tried using my brothers computer however it turned out fine.. so therefore its my computer problem... i somehow managed to get it connected to the router but no packets were received, i later found out that my computer do not have any IP address at all, everything is blank
my internet connection sharing and firewall is also turned off and i cannot get it to switch back on, whenever i tried re-enabling it gives me the message "windows cannot start internet connection sharing/firewall service"
i went into run>cmd>services.msc and found out my "IPSEC service" is the problem of the source, but i cannot get it to turn on, whenever i try it gives me the message "cannot start because the dependency service or group failed to start"

any suggestions please? been without internet for 2 weeks already now.. :(

Only thing I can suggest is to set your Internet Explorer settings back to their defaults.

Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Reset Internet Explorer settings > click reset

is the op system Vista by any chance, if so there is a known problem with its connectivity software, it doesn't resolve the computer IP address correctly therefore your router will not allow internet access, its a problem i've been trying to resolve fully for about 6 months now .. most of the time i've had to buy either a seperate wireless dongle or use a network card.

Believe me I've tries 95% of the "fixes" out there.

I had this problem on a really old dell inspiron 1000 - IPSEC is a security protocol, i never actually got round to fixing it directly, but simply changing to a static I.P connection from dynamic sorted the problem out, and seemed to reset the error IPSEC had - hope that helps!

if problem is really in ipsec service, look for dependent services (listed on next tab page, named dependencies) and start them or find out problems with them.
