I found this on the KGB Keylogger site:

Q.7. I installed the trial version of your keylogger program to test this morning. I would like to stop and uninstall it. How do I stop the program?

A.7. Un-installing using Start menu shortcut

Step 1: Select Start -> Programs -> KGB Spy -> UnInstall

Step 2: Follow the on-screen instructions

Un-installing using Control Panel

Step 1: Select Start -> Settings -> Control Panel

Step 2: Open "Add \ Remove Programs" item in Control Panel

Step 3: Select KGB Spy from the applications list and press the "Remove" button

If these steps do not work for you then your next approach should be a designated removal program.

These people are offering a free trial (which is all you'll need) of their software which should do the job for you.

Although I have several anti-malware programs installed (Spybot, Ad-Aware, SpyGuard, SpywareBlaster, and a-squared), none of them would be able to remove a Keylogger.

"Ewido" says that it will remove keyloggers, so that's another viable option for you, and it's a powerful, industrial strength spyware removal tool (I love this program) that also has a free two-week trial offer.

I don't recommend that you go into the registry to remove entries unless you are very familiar with it.

First, I recommend you download the free McAfee program called Site Advisor if you do not have it. It will alert you to malicious sites.

Now type KGB Keylogger into google search. You will get a long list of sites addressing this virus and will understand why I suggested Site Advisor.

Keylogger programs are usually installed by someone who has access to your computer or by someone you trust through an email with a link or attachment. They also can be downloaded by P2P file sharing etc. A Microsoft Security article I read said that 90% of keylogger install happen in one ot the first two methods I listed.

Nope. Simply put: they're insects. They're so small and primitive relative to us that "respect", like most of the world around them, goes right over their heads. Really, your average puppy or kitten or even human infant has WAY more going on in its head than your average insect does. Insects are basically tiny living robots--they eat, molt, grow, eat some more, molt and grow some more, breed and then die. And while there's larval stages for some and complications for others, that's pretty solidly true of them all. They do the business of life almost entirely in a reflexive, mechanical manner. And most vertebrate life gets this: most land vertebrates kill whatever insects they run into (or eat them, as some birds, amphibians and reptiles do). Flies and the like in particular have evolved to breed by the hundreds just to compensate for that. There's a metaphor in here somewhere, about trolls on this internet, I'm sure. Or at least the bots[*]. Pun intended.

Try Spybot Search and Destroy to get rid of this nuisance. Use the link below to download it. Also run your anti virus to see if it can help, good luck!

go stick ya head in the registry

start\run\regedit

navigate to

hkey local machine\software\microsoft\windows\current version\run

on the right is the startup programs\keys, if its in there or a suss lokking 1 delete it.

then read up and find anything else related to it and kill it
