If you clicked the link and it said "phish" it's definitely fake. Also, Chase has your customer name, so they would never start an e-mail with "Chase Online Customer"... it would be your real name on your account. Also, there is absolutely NO reason they would require you to "reconfirm" your account information.

Its most likely a scam and don't touch it, if their was a problem the bank should of rang you, so just ring them in case your not sure.

I'd bet on scam. Call the bank or try to log into Chase from the actual Chase website. Don't click the link!

I believe it is a scam. I have chase as well and ive been hacked of my money before i would defiantly go to the bank or call and tell them about this email and confirm that it is from the bank not from a scammer. They have seen one of their emails before and know how to copy it. But hey you never know maybe it really is chase but i would recommend calling or going to the bank. Hope i helped(:

Do not click and follow through that link, Call Chase RIGHT AWAY, and ask them about this email.

I very highly doubt they would send this email, most likely it is a scam.

All banks have a policy that they will not send out links about customer accounts. They always email you and ask that you contact them directly.

I would contact them directly about this - information is here https://www.chase.com/ccp/index.jsp?pg_name=ccpmapp/privacy_security/fraud/page/report_fraud to help stop this from happening. They will be glad that you did.

Definitely a phishing scam. They want you to go to their website (which will look like the genuine Chase site) and get you to give them your ID and password.

If you are still not sure, Google on a few words from the email. I just Googled and got lots of hits - the first is:

www.millersmiles.co.uk/report/9486

which report a similar scam last year containing the words:

Dear Credit Union Australia customer,

We recently have determined that different computers have logged on to your CUA Web Banker account, and multiple password failures were present before the logons.

We now need you to re-confirm your account information to us.

If this is not completed by June 20, 2009, we will be forced to suspend your account indefinitely, as it may have been used for fraudulent purposes.

We thank you for your cooperation in this manner.

Different bank, same scam. Alway be suspicious, always check. Googling the details of the letter is the easiest and best way to see if this has been reported as a scam

Scam scam scam scam scam scam scam.

No self-respecting bank gives news like that over email because of the security risk: they call you.

When you get emails like that you should NEVER click on the links. Instead what you do is you call the bank directly with your phone and confirm with them first whether its real or not.

Total scam

The link looks legitimate but it will take you to a disguised website that looks pretty much identical to the real Chase website.

Then, they will STEAL your log in information.

Try this:

Type Chase.com into your web browser and see if you can still log in. If you can, then are OK and that proves the email is a scam since Chase would lock your account after multiple failed log in attempts.

It's 100% a phishing scam - look at Phishing example #11 and how similar it is to what you received https://www.chase.com/ccp/index.jsp?pg_name=ccpmapp/privacy_security/fraud/page/fraud_examples

Chase NEVER puts a link in their emails for any reason

Forward this ASAP to abuse@chase.com

If there was suspected fraud on your account, you get a CALL from Chase or they would send an email and tell you to go to the Chase site and log in.They NEVER post a link for any reason

it truly is continually the same link. at the same time as they get the charm type at customer Care, they merely seem decrease back on your heritage and note what changed into bumped off. that's why they ask you to computer screen specifically which submit you're desirable contained in the kind.
