Someone sent me spam from my own Yahoo e-mail address, how did this happen and how can I prevent it? It showed up in my bulk folder. I tried right clicking on the sender and clicking properties, it showed that the e-mail was sent by me. It is a sales add from a jerelery seller with a link to a web site HTTP:// saer.shnsgg.com I just changed my password, will this fix this problem. I don't want to have to block my own e-mail address from my in box.

Your email address was spoofed. It happens from time to time. Unless you notice some unusual Inbox activity, you have nothing to worry about.

Its trivial to change the sender address. You can prevent it by using anti-spam software, such as SpamAssassin.

It's called spoofing. Much like you can put any return address on a postal letter and it will still get delivered.
