Either get it from Microsoft's download center, or get it through Windows Update.



Windows Update is the best way, you'll need Service Pack 3 as well, you're in danger without the important security updates it contains.

got there... and you also skip the genuine validation crap that ms make you go through when you go to the main site.



Lots of genuine pcs are failing those validations even tho they have a geunie version installed and have a valid certificate on the side of the pc.

Mine failed and its a genuine version, installed from a genuine ms holographic disc, with the certificate on the side of the pc... which I typed in correctly...



And to those that say get service pack 3.. some softwares dont work well with the updates from service pack 3, so the person who posted this question may have that problem.

You are to use Windows Updates that scans your computer for what is missing for a fully patched machine that is secure against venerabilites and zero day threats.

The average consumer is to have Windows Updates set at AUTOMATIC period. Anyone telling you different is trying to get you to circumvent your own computer security. You are to be at Service Pack 3 and Internet Explorer Version 8 as recommended by Microsoft security bulletins....
