Internet explorer is the least secure of all internet browsers....Any version of IE can be compromised, giving virtual access to your machine......The fact that internet explorer comes standard on all versions of windows makes it the greatest target for web based attacks on the internet.

A non-standard internet browser will provide more security to your systems.

I stopped reading that mash seven years ago, yes I use to be on the TechNet and other things, yes I am MSIE certified. and yes I am Linux, RedHat, certified also.

All those certs are just bragging rights and ways to edge out others that are applying for the same job.

Far as Critical patches and the woes of IE, let me see, 95% of the world uses some form of Windows, ergo if I wanted data and I was a black hat hacker, I would find the exploits on the most used systems, Windows and most used Software, IE.

I am an Ethical Hacker and I still use Windows when I have to fix some box for a friend or client. Best words of advice that I ever heard and still pass on is back it up because no matter what, it is going to eventually fail.

I unsubscripted from those things 6 or 8 years ago, but those issues have been long known.

600 million lines of interdependency and .dll hooks will always lead to a fail.

A UOS is coming, Universal Operating System, and it is and will be free of charge, it will not be free of bugs, but this entire thing is moving away from Desktops to Pure Internet Services and WWW Storage.

And I am back on a good *nix distro again after two weeks of Windows7, gosh what a mess that code is.

Microsoft's Internet Explorer has always been known to be problematic. It is free and still, people are running away from it. There are many flaws in it and in it's nature to share modules with windows itself. One thing is important, when Microsoft tells you they issue a critical warning, it's usually close to the release date of a fix since it has always been Microsoft's strategy to claim having problems then solving it right away, "saving the day" and the face of the company. Other's (apple) will deny problems and simply patch when ready, without saying much because of the image of "perfection" they are after. I believe there are many old bugs, and 17 years old might sound weird (especially after saying windows 7 was completely rewritten) but trust me, I know bugs that were on 98 that are still present on vista and 7 (custom tool bars on the task bar hell and non-working search in files for some file types including word (specific params only)!!!)

Fact is, Windows is a huge library of codes and modules that keep growing. The system is ultra complicated and it needs some cleanup...but as we all know, it's not fixed as PC computers that are not used properly (installing junk from the net) will eventually result in a slow computer. Even window's own updates are known to slow down a computer by incredible factors.

Hi Carling

well i never but it does not surprise me to be honest, the beta testing has only just stumbled on it. well the beta testers have been falling down again.

so what do they intend doing about it then, i wonder wait for some one to come up with a fix.

as is the norm for Microsoft so when do they expect to have a fix i winder.

the problems with XP sp3 still causing difficulties for most and the september up grade to windows 7 is biting them in the bum.

Not a good year for Bill's old firm then.
