computer automatic scan time?

when i set my computer automatically check for updates or to scan my computer in the morning at like 3 AM while the computer is off, does it still check for updates and scan my computer?

Start/Run

Type wscui.cpl

Click Automatic Updates

Click Automatic

As soon as you start up and log in, it will check and then it will do whatever you have it setup to do, whether it be to download automatically or prompt for download. This is all assuming you are on a computer not in a domain that uses WSUS or SUS.
