Hello, I have a virus on my computer and need some suggestions to remove it! I says it is a trojan. It is effecting IE but not firefox. It causes browser windows to open without my request to sites such as (porno.com or erectiledysfunction.com) Also, I cannot open any of my own virus programs. When I try it redirects me to a strange/unknown virus protection web site to try to get me to purchase the software. I have tried to download new programs but it will not let me open/run them once they have been downloaded.

I dont have a lot of money so free solutions would be best!

If you can't get online you might have to try safe mode with networking.You will need to turn off your computer. You will need to start tapping the f8 button and then turn on your computer and keeping tapping f8 until you get to an advanced boot options menu. Then use your arrows to select safe mode with networking. Then log into admin and try again.



If it doesn't let you get into safe mode or let you online you will need to go to a different computer and save that program to a flash drive and then try to install it that way.



Then to prevent you from getting these viruses again download and run this free program where you can run everything in a virtual environment. Then even

if you go to a bad site or download a bad file it wont matter because it will be trapped in the sandbox and you can just delete it. That way the virus wont have a chance to affect your real computer.

I had a similar problem but not with it blocking anti-virus programs. Sounds like you will need to restart you computer in safe-mode (done by pressing one of the Fxx keys on start-up) and try run one of your anti-virus to scan your computer. I from experience would recommend using malwarebytes.org which is free, quick and easy to use.



If this method fails, you may need to back-up your files, restore your computer from a previous back-up or restore your computer to factory conditions.
