Some one has hacked my hotmail email account and using it to send out spam emails. They are using my email and pretending to be the windows live hotmail team and spam emailing everyone they can asking for their password. How do I stop this? How do I contact the REAL windows live team? I tried resetting my password but it's been so long since I made this email, I don't remember the answer to my security question.

Although I am unaware of how to contact live hotmail support my suggestion is this. Its a little time consuming and is probably a last option thing but here ya go.

1.Begin by writing down all you use that email address for, i.e. blog accounts, myspace/facebook, banking, paypal, and etc

2. Copy important e-mails and contacts

3. As much as its gonna suck(ive had to do it before) create a new account( i do reccomend yahoo if you dont want another hotmail) and transfer the necessare information. Then as soon as you have time get onto all you use the email for and begin switching over

Oh and if you do do all that I would suggest shutting down the hacked email if possible because they can get into so much more if they continue to use it.

Im sorry,

If you dont remember anything about when you signed up with the hotmail account you need to make a new account , make your password quite long, and make the security question into a word you can remember even if its not true!, Then on your display name or email everybody tell them your new email, tell them all thay your account has been hacked.

Sorry its annoying when that happens!

Make sure that everything else you use that same password and email adress for you delete ! and make a new one.

Has this spam been sent to most of the recipients on your email list?

If not..

My guess is that they are not actually sending the emails from the Hotmail website nor have they actually been into your Hotmail account.

Most of the spam you see has a "spoofed" or faked email return address. They may only have your email address and your mail is still secure.

If they have sent to your email contacts, then print out a list of your address list, abandon that email address, get a new email and notify all your contacts that you have moved.

Looks like your in trouble. Make a new email and send out one for everyone to block that old email because it got hacked. After a while if there isnt anyone accessing that account it will be deleted. There isn't too much you can do! Sorry!

Call the email provider, explain what happened. They might help you, they might not. In the future, don't use passwords from the dictionary, they are very easy to hack. Also combine uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and special characters.
