.exe extensions are legit extensions. Malware also uses .exe extensions. This doesn't mean that all .exe extensions are malware or will infect your computer.

As happened in this case. You have an email with an attachment ending with an .exe extension. This is a warning that it could have an infection. It also could be a legit program.

The rule is " If you get an email from someone you don't know, or did not expect, then do not click on any links or attachments. Do not click on the Unsubscribe link because it is bogus and only confirms your email address to the party that sent it.". That's the rule. Violate it at your own risk.

Virtual Laguna Beach must be popular. This email may be taking advantage of that fact to infect you. This is a very common trick. This Google page has safe stites for virtual Laguna Beach.

If you have antivirus software, try right clicking the link and then clicking Scan with _____ "Your Antivirus software" e.g. Scan with Norton Antivirus. If it passes, it should be fine.

Note, I may be confusing this action with another scan progress. Sorry if so.

Good Luck.

If you don't know who sent it, don't open it. It could save you a lot of problems.
