Hi there.

When I started my computer up this morning instead of pulling up my desktop, I got a blue screen telling me that an error had occured and it suggested that I uninstall my antivirus software to fix the problem. It then restarted on its own. After a few tries, I got the computer back up in normal mode and got a pop up that said my Norton Antivirus software had stopped working and my computer is now unprotected. After a few moments, another pop up appeared telling me that several programs on my computer had stopped working and had to shut down. I got the blue screen again and the sudden restart again. I restarted my computer in safe mode and did a system restore, but it didn't help. After about an hour of use, it repeated the blue screen and restarted. Windows is now poping up telling me that some program from windows is shutting down some applications because the memory is being used inappropriately. When I went for more info, it told me that it might be because of a virus. I have no idea what is going on. It looks like a virus to me but with no Norton, I can't tell. When I try to start up Norton's auto fix program, I get the blue screen again. Please, someone, what is going on and how do I stop it?

Hi,

Shut down your computer. Place you Norton AV disk in your CD-ROM drive (just before shutdown or immediately at power up). Your computer should boot from the Norton disk and you'll be able to identify and fix the virus (in most cases).

Thank you.

a million) report it to the college immediately - in case you acquire it, others will. 2) in case you have a present day Nortons licence, touch them for yet another replica. If no longer, then you definately could ought to purchase one. 3) Failing all else, you could ought to rebuild your finished disk. have been given all of it subsidized up. Oh, and there's a volatile tendency for Mac fetishists to boast that "Macs don't get viruses". confident, they do. in the event that they did no longer, then the main suitable AV makers would not project to make AV products for the countless Mac OS's. this is been stated that it is not basic to place in writing a Mac virus simply by fact, by ability of the time you write it, they are going to launch yet another total new working device...and you ought to start over.
