You can get the removal tool from Norton. Many users will tell you Norton is a Ram hog or it does not offer good protection. But it test at the Major testing labs AV Compartives and AV test.org. Norton does very well in fact it's one of the best. AV Compartives named it AV of the year based on their tests, with Kaspersky coming in a close second. These lab also test all anti-virus program for impact on a computer again Norton is one of the lightest running programs. With less impact on browsing than any other antivirus program. It's not only the big testing labs that rate Norton high, PC mag test put Norton security suite as number 1. PC world rates it very high. The only place where Norton seems to score lower is proactive protection. There's a reason for this Norton uses Sonar for proactive protection and in the proactive test, a computer is not hooked up to the internet. Sonar depends on the internet for it's proactive protection to do better.

Rule No One, Don't install Norton, it gets into everything and uses alot of system resources and is nearly impossible to ever completely remove,

Try add/remove programs

That is the best way to uninstall any program.

If you want to use it, try reinstalling it.

you can try reboot in safemode and pick LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION

you can try reboot in safemode and do a system restore back to a point before you try to install it.

Good idea to create a restore point before you try to install any software, that way if it corrupts files or doesn't work you can go right back with out losing any data or anything.

2 ways:

1- search for good uninstaller "google it"

2- symantic is issuing all the times uninstallers in case things got cloged! you can search also for it and try it.

and my advice to you: never try symantec product again, they went down long time ago

Do you want to remove it permanently, or do you want to finish the install? If you want to remove it permanently, remove (delete) the Symantec folder manually, then back up the Windows Registry with ERUNT (just in case), then run COMODO System-Cleaner. Here's my article on this procedure:

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Norton-Removal-Tool.shtml

go there and download the removal tool. it will completely rip norton out.

norton is 100% pure overpriced garbage. it does very little for you and takes up great amounts of ram and processor usage. just junk. if you doubt me get norton then go to **** sites (a great place to pick things up). then scan with norton. then rip norton out and install avg (100% free). then see what norton left behind. you will fall through your own butt and choke to death from it. then just picture $70 to buy and $xx per year to keep. avg is $0 to get, $0 to keep, 0$ per month and updates itself with out your intervention.

if i sound like i'm bashing norton....I AM. it is overpriced GARBAGE.

look do yourself, and those you know, a favor....PASS ON NORTON. there is a reason it is hard to remove: they want you to keep paying for their junk. then when you find something better, and cheaper as in free, they want their crap to interfere with your new anti virus. so that way you end up paying them for junk that does not do the job.

welcome to life. if i can keep sabotaging your stuff so you can keep paying me, i'll get rich.
