No, there is no such thing as a "safe" browser, as the very concept of a web browser is unsafe. It's a portal to the public internet.

Now is chrome more safe than others? No.

The most popular web browser is the most targeted. That would be chrome.

You should understand that any time you enter your sensitive information into any device connected to the internet, that your information is no longer safe. Period.

You best bet for the least unsafe, popular browser is to use Chrome, Chromium or Firefox WITHOUT ANY EXTENSIONS or ADDONS AT ALL.

Of the three major choices- (default settings, no add-ons or extensions) Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Microsoft Internet Explorer- Chrome is the more secure browser, but lacks privacy (Google keeps a fly on the wall).

A Chromium (based on Chrome) called Flashpeak Slimjet offers better privacy options, but it don't update immediately after Chrome updates which sacrifices security (delayed security patches). The proper extensions can make up for that lapse.

My own preference however is my hardened Firefox Browser that is more secure then the Tor browser (a security based version built off of Firefox). The settings and add-ons I included in Firefox provides both a higher level of security and privacy- but the sacrifice is speed.

I'm an advanced user however, for novice to intermediate users I recommend Flashpeak Slimjet, just make changes in the security section. There are little (?) links that explain the settings next to each item.

You never said where. You're asking what you should use, and is it safe, and secure. Some people prefer using Google Chrome, and other people prefer using Firefox.

It depends where you put your information. If you put your sensitive information in the hands of someone, or people who can't be trusted, then this is at your own discretion.

I use different web browsers. In my opinion, I think it doesn't matter which web browser you use. What matters is what you do with your sensitive details.

You can start it(chrome) with option: --disable-extensions,

then it's will be secured (if you have viruses in extensions).

About Sanjay answer - In chrome browser - the passwords are stored in google servers not in your disk, then you may don't worry about it.

any browsers ok, if you update them regularly. All viruses if you execute exe or virused scripts, about what your browsers will say to you before.

Every system is possible to hack.It is not possible to safe every thing.

If you want to secure yourself you should disconnect to you from internet. :) That's a joke

But there is some trick to safe your browser.

Use a powerful security tools and VPN.

If you need more security i suggest you use tor browser.

Clear browser history regularly. Do not store passwords in the browser. XSS can use JavaScript to steal your passwords. No browser is completely safe. Use OWASP mantra browser. (recommended).

This is a hotly debated question as to the security of chrome with regard to your privacy, as far as banking details are concerned yes it is fine as it would be illegal for Google to take these and use &/or sell them (they may offer to save them on your device but thats stored locally so it would be ok as they are pretty trustworthy with those sorts of things) and as far as stopping criminal hackers from getting your details again yes it is fine. However it is more with regard to Googles tracking of your searches and websites visited that there begins to be issues arising as Google will track everything that you search and ever website you visit no matter what and it will send it to its servers to allow for targeted ads on it's websites, they will also use any demographic details you may have input into your Google account if you've signed in to it (this is the reason that google chrome is often referred to as a piece of spyware that you want on your computer) now the main issue here is this is totally legal for them to do and so it is totally us to you at this point as to how much you decide you trust Google not to sell on your details to 3rd parties that may be committing illegal acts with the information
